A big part of it comes with appreciating people who are very much themselves.

I don't visualize when I read, so I was very excited this morning when it happened. Said, "I'm visualizing!" out loud. ...and then I woke up.

Question for library workers and anti-censorship advocates! **Please read the whole thread.

Do you know of any stories where censorship was happening in a school district–classroom and curricular are ideal–and it was the school librarian who not only helped uncover it but was crucial in ending it?

I give Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series crap for being a Most Special Boy Ever story, but dude is not-too-subtly teaching positive masculinity to a big audience.

And now there's a spirit that not-too-subtly represents kids having access to GenAI while doing homework, and that's on point.

These arguments should be considered a symptom of a rotten approach. Just wild stuff from the founding fathers worshippers.

I have said it before & I will say it again: sometimes nothing sells a book like a 1 star review.

I am certain this 1 star review will sell this book to at least one of you.

On a field of stars are the words cover reveal and the book cover for You, Me, and the Conspiracy by Emma Barry. It features library shelves on either side of a couple. There's a white woman with brown hair holding a map. Next to her is a white man with a leather messenger bag. They're looking at each other adoringly. The light pouring around them resembles the silhouette of George Washington.

Y'all, I have been waiting impatiently for a week to share this cover with you. And at long last, I can reveal the gorgeous cover for You, Me, and the Conspiracy to the world.

Books with video game code in BASIC were a big draw for me as an 80s kid.

Then I learned C code style with LPMuds by dialing into the public library's catalog, escaping the interface, and using the gopher system or telnet across the Internet before there were web browsers.

"Epstein class" as popular phrase is a celestial gift to antisemites.

May I suggest using "the Jeffrey class" instead?

First milestone was being able to walk my new dog on a leash. But then he could pull out when excited.

I've been working on him wearing a harness, which was initially more overwhelming for him than a collar. We just had our first morning walk with harness and he did try to get out. Rolled. And ok!

True, BUT there is something to the worry that a bad enough Democratic candidate may normalize the party as a whole abandoning people.

The only thing worse than what we have now is if local politics stop protecting.
