Fรผr seinen Beitrag zum Verstรคndnis der zellulรคren Kraftwerke (Mitochondrien) wurde Nikolaus Pfanner in die Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, die nationale Akademie der Wissenschaften Italiens, aufgenommen. Thrilled to share our latest work showing that the bridge lipid transport protein ATG2A transfers diacylglycerol (DAG), and some TAG/PA, from the ER to LDs, thereby recruiting DGAT2 to drive local TAG synthesis, promoting LD expansion while protecting ER membranes.

Quiescent cells stay alive by eating less. They downregulate amino acid transporters to match reduced demand. When this brake fails -> cell death & disease.

Itโs been a tough few weeks. My 10yo daughter was diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called interdigitating dendritic cell sarcoma (IDCS). Iโm reaching out to identify clinicians/patients who have encountered pediatric IDCS or other (non-LCH) dendritic or histiocytic sarcomas cases.
