blue and black ink painting with overlapping concentric circles
Oh and I finally listed a physics ink painting! #sciart artologica.etsy.com/listing/4469...
Cover art for Discover Calculus. The background shows a plane flying over water in an arc. Reflected in the water is the plane and its arc but also diverging curves, rippling in the water. In the background is a bridge and some lights. The sky is dark with shining stars, a crescent moon, and beautiful clouds. The whole picture is a warm grey/brown with black hatch shading and white highlights. Discover Calculus Single-Variable Calculus Topics with Motivating Activities Peter Keep
It's here! @acidlich.bsky.social created this beautiful cover art, perfect as a representation of the book. While students will mostly be interacting with the book digitally, I'm very excited for the printed copies that we'll be making to give to students as well!

I like to tell students "I did not ask you to solve these differential equations because I needed them solved" and sometimes the light goes on.
I have personally decided to lean straight into losing my shit
Illustration on grayish brown paper, has a very nice texture of a plane flying above a bay as night is falling. The shape of the planeโs flight path is rather like a piece of the graph of cosine, reflected in the bay can be seen this same part of a cosine kind of shape with some graphs bouncing off of it, represented by white reflections in the surface of the water. These represent the first few approximations of cosine by Taylor polynomials. Beyond the bay can be seen some building and lights and bushes and a suspension bridge. The sky has a crescent moon and is full of stars. Hatch shaded with white accents
Exciting news, I finished a drawing!
I still actually havenโt decided on a name yet, but I might call it Taylorโs Theorem. I am however open to (good) suggestions (emphasis on good)
what this is great news ๐
"sin^2 ฯ is odious to me, even though Laplace made use of it; should it be feared that sin ฯ^2 might become ambiguous, which would... occur... at most very rarely when speaking of sin(ฯ^2), well then, let us write (sin ฯ)^2, but not sin^2 ฯ, which by analogy should signify sin(sin ฯ)" -- Gauss

Let me tell you something. Yโall are asking too many damn questions at every point of sale. I have to leave a comment, make a suggestion, donate to a charity, choose a method of payment three times and then multiple choice of ways to get a receipt.
Take the damn money and leave me alone.

Daylight is irrelevant if you have the metric system, because it measures time not in hours but by weight, using kitchen scales. That's only because the international governing bodies couldn't agree on the duration of a coffee spoon.
me, picking up my kid who has fallen asleep on the floor: well,
we should lose an hour on like. Monday during work hours
yes this too
