Please tell me this is hypothetical and there aren’t people there?

I mean if you are offering them some help - then it may backfire and folks could use it quick access to mental health care.

β€œ...Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives ... on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam...”

So 2 Covid-19 Royal Commissions now find Labour did an excellent job & led NZ to one of the best outcomes globally. The report also vindicates the economics. If $30 billion was spent on schools, infrastructure etc that's amazing and supportive.
National are borrowing $120 billion w/o a pandemic

This is now all I need to hear about it.

I was saying to dad earlier today that we need non ideological driven policy - it’s really fucking the world over.

So far the war on Iran has cost $9.4 billion.

That's $1 billion per day.

$41,666,667 per hour.

$11,574 per second.

Thousands of lives lost.

People don't want this. They want a living wage. They want healthcare. They want to be able to afford a home. They want their basic needs met.

I get that we need some kind of back stop, but dropping a 1B on having the ability to back stop seem quite extreme.

Ignoring the greens shit canned exploration AFTER folks had stopped looking because their wasn’t the return.

It doesn’t feel like folks have had time to get a viable plan.

Some thoughts on why I think it's important to remember that the natural and physical world provide joy and curiosity, even though global geopolitics is very mean and horrible right now. Appreciating the world around us gives us joy & agency. Don't forget the bad, but hold on to the good too.

Comic. [Person 1 talking to a person with shoulder-length hair and a person with a white hat.] PERSON 1: I would never get an electric vehicle. Sure, they sound great, but what do you do if the battery runs out of charge? [caption] I felt pretty silly when someone finally explained tome that EVs are rechargeable.

Scottish Opera offers hugely discounted tickets to people under the age of 26. In fact most of the theatres here do, usually for around Β£10. Which means you could see a whole live show for less than the cost of a ticket to one of Timothee Chalamet’s films. Just saying.

'this detention centre' looks suspiciously like your bog standard Conference Centre somewhere on the outskirts of Kettering, just off the A14.
