The 20 IICSA recommendations aim to create a safer system that prevents child sexual abuse. They were shaped by real survivor experiences. Hereβs one.

Last Thursday, 19th February, leaders of our Member Agencies came together in central London for a CEO Summit meeting.

The Truth Project gave victims and survivors a safe, supported way to share what happened to them and how institutions failed them.
After 3 years of campaigning, a key recommendation of #IICSA has been taken forward: a Child Protection Authority (CPA).

We've joined @rapecrisis.bsky.social, @thesurvivorstrust.bsky.social and others in sharing concerns about self-swab 'rape kits'.
We cannot support their use, and encourage victim-survivors to use the services provided by sexual assault referral centres or specialist sexual violence services.
Weβre grateful the govt confirmed funding for victim support services today.
It doesnβt solve all the problems our Member Agencies are facing, but itβs a recognition of the importance of our sector and specialist services. We continue to fight the corner of our Member Agencies. #SupportSurvivors

A perpetrator might knowingly or unknowingly expose a survivor to an STI. If you're worried about your sexual health after an assault, you can access support through an ISVA or SARC. You donβt need to report to the police to get help.
For many survivors, visiting a clinic can feel (re-)traumatising. Services like @brookcharity.bsky.social offer free, confidential STI kits by post in many UK regions. Check your eligibility online.
We mark #SHW25 #SexualHealthWeek and want you to know that you can reach out to us if you need to.
