A Response to the Decision to Rescind EPA's 2009 Endangerment Finding The AMS is a global community committed to advancing weather, water, and climate science and service.

AMS is deeply concerned by the repeal of EPA’s 2009 Endangerment Finding, which concluded greenhouse gas emissions harm health and well-being. The science remains clear: human-caused climate change is already causing harmful impacts.

2025 was the third hottest year ever.
Trend is worrying and faster than expected a few years ago.

Only when we stop burning coal, oil and gas, temperature will stop rising.

A powerful winter storm has brought strong winds and heavy snow to the Midwest and Northeast US over the last couple of days, while also creating some blizzard and snow squall conditions.

Significant lake effect snow continues to pelt the Great Lakes region from this storm.

I usually love seeing my friends quoted in the NYTimes, but the reasons for @marinavance.bsky.social being the focus of this story are so sad. The damage to US science is terrible.

Interesting that I'm not seeing any coverage of No Kings on NYT (Let alone inaccurate coverage). I wonder what they got wrong. The number of people participating? I've seen estimates of 7 million, but the general sense I've gotten is a reluctance to give an estimate at all.

Canada is experiencing their second worst wildfire season on record, and smoke from these fires can be carried many thousands of miles.

On August 7, 2025, New England and Eastern Canada were enveloped in smoke that had traveled from Central Canada, impacting the air quality for millions. (1/5)

My cat was so funny about the cat door. She acted like it was so difficult for her to open it (when she knew I was around) and she would complain loudly about it, but when a deer scared her, she had no problem dashing right through the door, silently rushing to "safety"

It’s always interesting to see the effect of fireworks on urban air quality. This is a simple snapshot of the #PurpleAir maps in U.S. and Europe tonight, with a bonus of the Colorado Front Range thrown in for good measure. Serious PM concentrations, as always on the 4th of July. Stay healthy!
