Also a flight when the announcement “if there’s a doctor onboard, could they make themselves known to the cabin crew” was made. Newfoundland was very cold and most of the other passengers were dressed for Florida, where most of us were going via Bangor.
I was diverted to Gander in 1993, when severe weather closed Bangor (might have been during what they now call Storm of the Century?). The passengers cheered the pilot when we landed - it was that type of flight. Gander was a little time capsule of when air travel was much cooler 😎
