It’s been 100 days of no responses from the National Archives on the status of the UAP / UFO record uploads.
I’ve got nothing to report, so here’s our cat Jojo screaming because he can’t get to the snail in the terrarium.

There’s no clear connection between the subject of UFOs and his disappearance, but it’s a weird topic and occurred while the topic was already in the news. So, naturally people are fixated on it.

CNN just did a lousy job with covering it. His wife addressed the link to UFOs in a statement on Facebook. McCasland was a consultant for Tom DeLonge on the topics of UFOs. There were also emails between McCasland and John Podesta on the subject that came out with Wikileaks.

A law passed in 2023 mandated that all federal agencies review for and transfer UAP / UFO records to the National Archives. Some records have slowly been uploaded to NARA's site with more expected soon. The following thread is the timeline of the reviews and transfers so far. #uap #ufo (1/5)
The Disclosure Foundation has sent a formal letter to arXiv regarding the rejection of two submissions from Dr. Beatriz Villarroel.
arXiv is a major preprint repository operated by Cornell University where researchers share scholarly articles prior to journal publication.

This is an excerpt from one of 38 UAP records from the NSA uploaded to the National Archives. These were a part of 50 records previously released by FOIA. 12 were redacted and are missing from the National Archives release.

I’m curious if this is based off of metadata for lists of withheld UAP records requested by NARA or if they have a separate source of metadata. I have reached out to members of congress suggesting they start with the withheld record list, but I’ve yet to hear back.

Members of Congress have sent a letter to Rubio, Hegseth, Gabbard, and Wright requesting access to specific UAP files based on metadata they have. The letter is signed by Reps Burlison, Subramanyam, Carson, Mace, Crane, Luna, Burchett, and Perry.

There was already a release of UFO / UAP records in progress before Trump made those claims. Legislation passed in 2023 mandated federal agencies transfer UAP records to the National Archives. The uploads started last year and should be wrapping up this month.

I am also following up on my FOIAs to obtain the metadata spreadsheets of UAP records each agency identified for transfer. Hopefully some responses start coming in and, better yet, we start seeing more uploads at NARA.
Roughly 3 weeks remain for the National Archives to upload transferred UAP records. On 2/27 I reached out to the DOE, DHS, DOJ, CIA, and FBI to try to get statements to confirm if they transferred UAP records to NARA and if any will be withheld from release.

The 2023 NDAA states that this report would be due "Not later than 540 days after the date of the enactment of the Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023". This was signed into law December 23, 2022, making Volume 2 past due. There is no indication that this report has been completed.

AARO released Volume 1 of their historical reports in February 2024 after the departure of director Sean Kirkpatrick. After 2 years, Volume 2 remains unreleased and past due. Volume 1 is one of 30 OSD UAP records added to the National Archives.

Outside of the DoD, the DoE is strongly hinted at being used. The FBI had a team confirmed to be investigating UAP recently. And, the CIA always comes up in the topic. A lot of departments and agencies play some role in investigating UAP, even if just providing data to other agencies.
