This government should be able to explain how they came up with the budget and why they made the cruel choices they did.

But they can't. Or they won't. Either option is a betrayal of the public's trust.

I hate how the NS premier & con MLAs talk about the massive deficit as if it was inevitable. No! They created this mess! And, many Nova Scotians knew about the financial crisis before this budget.

However, I love how today's announcement transcript includes all of Tim's throat clearing & snorting.

Anyway, Nova Scotia, don't back down. Bill 198, on top of budget cuts, is all part of the plan to sell off the province to resource exploitation companies, which will make NS uninhabitable.

Because I've been preparing a committee statement, I've been thinking a lot about the budget & Financial Measures Act together. This budget isn't really about austerity, it's creating an autocracy.

The point is to subjugate Nova Scotians & consolidate power for resource extraction.

Premier Tim Houston has called a 10:45 am news conference today related to the budget.

FamilySOS lost 100% of their provincial funding, funding they used for their Family Support Program. 8/10 families using this program were referred by CPS, the NS justice system, the IWK, or SchoolsPlus. This government seems to have no idea what they’re doing.

Late last year, a white supremacist dating platform was hacked and its users leaked. One of those users is Royal Canadian Air Force Major Tristan Armstrong, who CAHN has linked to thousands of posts made on far-right forums between 2019 and 2024.

There's a difference between feeling unsafe and uncomfortable.

MLAs are not unsafe in Province House. Closing down the second floor to the public is a cowardly move. They did it because some of the MLAs feel uncomfortable with the cuts, and won't admit it.

Gwendolyn is right, many sites were just starting to do the important work of interpreting community histories in more honest and inclusive ways. And, scholars are currently working with someof these collections. *sigh*
