Americans are already struggling with the cost of getting around and the health effects of transportation pollution.
Now, Republicans in Congress are trying to pass a new tax on electric vehicles.
This is something we canβt afford to compromise on.

1οΈβ£ get rich by selling toxic fossil fuels
2οΈβ£ donate money to politicians
3οΈβ£ ask for favors from those politicians, so that you can sell even more toxic fossil fuels
repeat as needed

I guess buying Trump so he would:
β‘οΈ put your cronies at DOE & DOI
β‘οΈ have them issue the drilling permits you always wanted
β‘οΈ relentlessly attack your clean energy competition
β‘οΈ give you a bunch of new tax giveaways
β‘οΈ kill standards you don't like
...isn't enough for Big Oil execs anymore π€·ββοΈ
βNow that energy prices have skyrocketed due to his corporate polluter-first policies, Trump is trying to cover up his mistakes with a photo op,β said @lenamdc.bsky.social, executive director of Evergreen Action

As New York debates cap-and-invest, a new report shows whatβs at stake.
The program would move $3B off utility bills and deliver about $270 in annual rebates to 6.5M+ householdsβwhile also cutting pollution and creating more union jobs. www.cityandstateny.com/policy/2026/...
Wednesday, @senangusking.bsky.social pressed Trump's nominee to lead the Bureau of Land Management on the admin's policy of prioritizing fossil fuel development on public lands over renewables.
How will he feel in a few years, if the policy is reversed?

Last night at the SOTU, Donald Trump said nothing about his failed promise to cut energy bills in halfβand in fact, 164 million households have seen those bills go up on his watch.
Meanwhile, MI is choosing cheaper, more reliable clean energyβthe actual solution to high costs.
Evergreen Executive Director @lenamdc.bsky.social: Trump's energy policies are meant to enrich his corporate polluter, crony friends who bankrolled his campaign while the rest of us foot the bill.
Governor Spanberger was right last night: Trump is not working for the American people.
Wow, forgot what a coherent leader sounds like
The President is out of touch. This speech, like the entire Trump presidency, is not focused on the problems that regular people are dealing with every day.
Voters want data centers in their community to be powered by clean energy, not polluting fossil fuels
Trump promised to cut the cost of electricity in half in his first year. He failed.
That broken promise cost American families $537 last year.
And it's getting worse.
There are two Americas in Trumpβs regime. One for fossil fuel executives, billionaires, and corporate insiders who bankroll his campaigns and get special treatment. And another for working families facing higher utility bills, rising insurance costs, and growing climate risks.
The Michigan data center boom can either raise bills or accelerate cheaper clean power. Our electeds must demand transparency and guardrails that protect ratepayers.

The Wisconsin story is simple: utilities are using data center demand to justify building gas plants that raise bills. The cheapest power on the grid? Renewables. Clean energy = cheap energy.

Last week, the Trump administration made climate denial their official policy.
But that isn't stopping governors and legislators from taking the lead on clean, affordable energy and transportation in their states.

"Natural gas accounts for roughly 40% of U.S. electricity generation and provides heating for around 46% of households. The price of natural gas has risen nearly 50% from last year"
We can't bear the freeze, and we can't afford the squeeze.

π¨ New data from @envdefensefund.bsky.social has a bleak warning:
The Trump EPA's disastrous decision to repeal the endangerment finding could cost Americans up to $1.4 TRILLION by 2055 in higher fuel costs.
The only people celebrating this are the corporations that paid for it.

Graphic of fossil fuel pollution with text: "Breaking: corrupt Trump EPA caves to corporate polluters, kills landmark climate finding"
The only people celebrating this decision are the corporations who paid for it.
The EPA exists for one reason: to protect our health and the environment. But under Trump and Administrator Zeldin, itβs become a protection racket for their Big Fossil Fuel allies.
Reporter Kristen Billings detailed how Wisconsin energy utilities are sacrificing affordability and sustainability to fuel the AI gold rush. Gas plants used to power data centers are increasing costs for consumers, the risk of exposure to pollutants, and accelerating the harms of climate change.

A new report from @aceee.org finds "implementing energy-efficiency measures and shifting electricity usage to lower-demand times could help meet much, if not all, of the nationβs projected load growth, and would cost only half what building out new infrastructure would. https://evrgn.co/3NYO4Aj
"Electric and gas utilities requested almost $31 billion worth of rate increases in 2025, according to an analysis by the energy policy nonprofit PowerLines. Thatβs more than double what utilities asked for just a year earlier." https://heatmap.news/sparks/powerlines-utility-rate-increase-2025
Developers are building houses that cost less by skipping the gas hookup. Saves time and money and lowers utility bills!

βWe grant utilities a monopoly. In exchange, they must keep costs just and reasonable.β β @joshshapiropa.bsky.social

If utilities block cheaper wind & solar to protect profits and push costly gas instead, they should be held accountable.
NEW: @governor.pa.gov just announced stronger standards for incoming data centers to bring their own power.
While this is a step in the right direction, to truly fix the grid and stabilize costs, PA must double down on the cheapest solution we have: clean energy.
π£ Republicans are (finally) realizing that Trump's attacks on clean energy are hurting families:
"The loss in the workforce and lost wages and the uncertainty for families... they could look at the President and say he canceled our project because it was solar" - Sen. Capito
Heat pump customers are being over charged for electricity! New electricity rates could charge that. Excited to be working on this policy in Maryland.
