Tomorrow at 4 PM Eastern DST the US U23 team starts in the #PanAmericanCup. Atlanta Vibe Head Coach Kayla Banwarth is an Asst Coach. @grandrapidsrise.bsky.social Raven Colvin, Orlando's Libero @Emmy Klika and OH Norah Sis, along with a bunch of this year's draft prospects will be in action.
Two separate, unconfirmed sources have said that MLV is effectively dead. Not surprising given the complete lack of any movement on their part.
Our fingers are crossed on getting some news this week... July is when players were released from their contracts last season. We're hoping they delayed free agency in order to get things ready for the new teams 🤞
In late December 2023, Franklin Sports (official ball manufacturer for the PVF) filed a trademark for "Boston Strong" for the purpose of "Entertainment ... in the nature of professional athletes competing in volleyball".
There were denied, but continue to appeal to use it for an apparent pro team:

No news on if LOVB is planning to expand. They've announced a pair of vet signings in Annayka Legros and Ivonee Montaño.
Other rumored franchise expansions include Boston and Philadelphia, but so far no paper trail to substantiate either one. These are rumored to be '27 or beyond.
The PVF meanwhile is focused on expanding for the '26 season. On March 17th they submitted a trademark for "Dallas Dynamite".
We've been told Dallas is 100% ready to go for next season, but KC may be delayed until '27.
I don't believe this has any bearing on their ability to call themselves "Major League Volleyball", but they'd be unable to stop media campaigns such as the San Diego Mojo from referring to themselves as "major league"
MLV has been radio silent since their initial announcement in January.
The US Trademark Office initially denied their attempt to trademark the phrase "Major League Volleyball". They said "(Major League Volleyball) merely describes a characteristic of applicant’s goods and services"

The silver lining in all of this: Pro volleyball has an audience here in the states, they're ready to watch and spend $$$.
Otherwise these owners wouldn't be squabbling.
I think PVF has a good on-court product. I hope they can figure something out and get Omaha back into the fold.
Time to take a big drink of coffee, and check the latest on my favorite pro volleyball league, "Pro Volleyball Federation".
Really impressed with Indy's mental fortitude. They took an absolute drubbing 1st set, but shook it off, got into a rhythm, and are now 10 points from their first win.
Hilley liked to do that last year, too (with Omaha). She's excellent.
