Canva flagged one of my historical fiction slides about an upcoming book as “political.” If you don’t think the political climate is affecting art, you are deluded. Art has always been political. Creativity is resistance. Storytelling shapes culture. And now design tools are cautioning us to “be careful.” When platforms label truth or history, Black history as risky, we need to pay attention.
