He took $10 billion from the US taxpayer to set up a “Board of Peace”

He’s bombed 8 countries.

He’s presided over the killing of American citizens by ICE.

He’s given billions to DHS despite a record number of deaths in the camps

Now he’s started war in the Middle East.

Meet the sand cat. Thick soles on its paws allow it to withstand the temperature extremes of desert sand. In parts of its range, days can reach 124° Fahrenheit (51° C) and then plummet to 31° Fahrenheit (-0.5° C) by night!

Black and white 4 panel cartoon by artist doodles by Charlie. A triangle talking to a circle wearing a black mask standing against a white background.

Panel 1:
Triangle: IT'S SMART YOU STILL WEAR A MASK.

Panel 2: the only panel with a black background and white text. A close up of Triangle with squinty, baggy eyes:
WHEN I HAD COVID, I COULDN'T TASTE FOOD FOR NINE MONTHS.
IT HURT TO BREATHE. MY LUNGS HAVEN'T BEEN THE SAME...

Panel 3: back to white background and Circle is handing Triangle a mask:
I'M SORRY. I HAVE MASKS YOU CAN USE?

Panel 4: Triangle happily turns to walk away after replying: NO, I'M FINE!

When I say making is anti-fascist, I do not mean in a hearts and flowers being a shining example of good in the world way. Breaking chains of disease transmission that can permanently disable someone is keeping people out of the reach of fascist. Excellent explainer below.

Sip masks allow you to drink through a straw when you’re wearing an n95 and are SO GREAT for flying and yes, even bars! Don’t get sick this winter, it’s very silly.

This. None of us actually expect that we’re going to see society wide masking anymore.

Masking in medical facilities should be the bare minimum.

A few more people choosing to mask up might save a life.

Every infection is a dice roll with disability and some of us are too sick to take the risk

Also please don’t feel guilty.

You can’t resist if you don’t survive.

Protests aren’t always accessible or safe.

We all have different disabilities, boundaries and limits.

Do what you can when you can!

That’s more than enough.

Survival is resistance.

If you were at the No Kings events, please wear a mask for the next few days.

Covid is not over.

You can infect others before you feel symptomatic.

People are losing their healthcare. They’re losing their food assistance. They’re losing housing.

We need to protect each other.

Long Covid Is Real -- And It's Changing an Entire Generation Long Covid is affecting hundreds of thousands of kids in America, and many doctors and schools refuse to recognize their illness.

Once again Rolling Stone knocks it out of the park with Covid coverage.

Long Covid is real and it is a serious threat to our long term health.

It’s already surpassed asthma as the most common chronic illness in kids.

Yet tons of doctors and schools won’t even recognize it:

Wear an N95 respirator: avoid Covid infections. Clean indoor air. Ventilation needs modernization. Require vaccinations. Research long covid. Establish occupational safety protocols for students and workers indoors. It’s straightforward public health 101. Stop pretending it’s all a mystery.

“I’ve had Covid a few times, it was mild, I’m fine!”

NOPE.

Prevent EVERY infection. N95 mask and clean the air. The vaccine does NOT prevent infection.

One Life, Live It Well: watch our new animation narrated by Alice Roberts 'Life is like a piece of string. It has a beginning and an end. We don't get much say about that. But we can make choices about the bit in between. We have the freedom to shape our own lives.'

This image is a COVID-19 Heat Map of the U.S., dated September 22, 2025, based on CDC wastewater data.

Key Features

Color Scale:

Very High (dark purple)

High (red)

Moderate (orange)

Low (yellow)

Very Low (light yellow)

Grey = No Data

Diagonal stripes = Limited Coverage

Map Findings:
Most states are shaded dark purple or red, indicating High or Very High transmission.

29 states (30 when including North Dakota by imputation) and Washington, D.C. fall into this category.

Transmission is shifting from the South and West toward other regions.

Notes

The underlying wastewater data are a week old, so some states may have already peaked.

Around 60% of transmission happens after the peak, highlighting the need for continued precautions.

California and several other western/southern states show especially high levels.

Infections

Proportion Actively Infectious: 1 in 57 people (1.8%)

New Daily Infections: 857,000

Infections in the Past Week: 6.45 million

Infections in 2025 (to date): 177 million

Cumulative Infections per Person: 4.64

Long COVID

From New Daily Infections: 43,000 to 171,000 cases

From New Weekly Infections: 323,000 to 1.29 million cases

Excess Deaths

From New Daily Infections: 240 to 410 deaths

From New Weekly Infections: 1,800 to 3,100 deaths

Notes

Daily infections have declined sharply from peak levels, similar to trends seen two years ago.

Long-term health impacts and excess deaths remain significant.

California is disproportionately affected due to its population size and scale of surges.

Autism isn't an epidemic, and it's caused by simple diversity in the Human genome, and cannot be prevented.

You know what IS an epidemic? COVID. It's caused by a virus, and can be prevented by a mixed-method approach that includes masks, indoor air filtration, vaccines, and ample paid sick leave.

We saw non-autistic parents of autistic kids speak at the event today. Non-disabled parents can do things harmful to their kids' disabilities, unfortunately.

Autistic people speak for their own community. Non-autistic parents of autistic kids are adjacent to the community, but they're not *the* community.

Interviewing a disabled parent of disabled kids is always a good perspective, though.

A reminder to follow journalists, today and every day.

If you say you're going to have disability representation in an article on a disability topic, interview a disabled person, not a non-disabled parent. Their perspectives don't count as disability representation.

Things today's White House autism announcement did not do:

-Discuss strategies to increase supports and services for autistic people/families
-Highlight why autistic people and families deserve respect, not pity or fear
-Endorse one speck of autism research that is not dangerous pseudoscience
