Sip masks allow you to drink through a straw when you’re wearing an n95 and are SO GREAT for flying and yes, even bars! Don’t get sick this winter, it’s very silly.

Masking in medical facilities should be the bare minimum.

Long Covid is real and it is a serious threat to our long term health.
It’s already surpassed asthma as the most common chronic illness in kids.
Yet tons of doctors and schools won’t even recognize it:
Wear an N95 respirator: avoid Covid infections. Clean indoor air. Ventilation needs modernization. Require vaccinations. Research long covid. Establish occupational safety protocols for students and workers indoors. It’s straightforward public health 101. Stop pretending it’s all a mystery.

Autism isn't an epidemic, and it's caused by simple diversity in the Human genome, and cannot be prevented.
You know what IS an epidemic? COVID. It's caused by a virus, and can be prevented by a mixed-method approach that includes masks, indoor air filtration, vaccines, and ample paid sick leave.
We saw non-autistic parents of autistic kids speak at the event today. Non-disabled parents can do things harmful to their kids' disabilities, unfortunately.
Autistic people speak for their own community. Non-autistic parents of autistic kids are adjacent to the community, but they're not *the* community.
Interviewing a disabled parent of disabled kids is always a good perspective, though.
A reminder to follow journalists, today and every day.
If you say you're going to have disability representation in an article on a disability topic, interview a disabled person, not a non-disabled parent. Their perspectives don't count as disability representation.
Things today's White House autism announcement did not do:
-Discuss strategies to increase supports and services for autistic people/families
-Highlight why autistic people and families deserve respect, not pity or fear
-Endorse one speck of autism research that is not dangerous pseudoscience
