On the bookshelves October 13th. Hope y’all like it:
William Golding is best know for his novel ‘The Lord of the Flies’ but he has many published works and I was able to read an advanced reader copy of ‘The Spire’ thanks to NetGalley and Viking Penguin. #booksky #literature #bookreview #nobelprizewinner #allegory #books

Thanks for the rec!
I have not read this yet. If you’re reading it for the second time is it safe to assume you’d recommend?
A Mercy by Toni Morrison

I really loved The Reformatory
Have you read other Jane Austen? I still need to read Persuasion and I’d love to read Emma soon.
The Hours by Michael Cunningham
Starting this buddy read today. I love it when a modern book calls back to a classic novel. What are you reading this week? #booksky #pulitzerprize #virginiawoolf #currentread
Such beautiful, fluid prose. Will definitely be reading more from Ursula Le Guin.
Tell Gaudior I said hi! A Wrinkle in Time is one of my all time favs
A Wizard of Earthsea by Ursula K Le Guin
I’ve been curious about this one since I heard David Mitchell say that reading this book made him realize he wanted to be a writer. What are you reading this weekend? #booksky #ursulakleguin #currentread #fantasy #ursulaleguin
A darkly hilarious satire with some amazing magical realism: We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry. #booksky #magicalrealism #satire #bookreview #bookrecommendation
Happy birthday
I think it’s normal to go through phases like this. Happens to all of us.
We Ride Upon Sticks by Quan Barry
Only a few chapters into this genre bender. It’s kind of rare for a book to actually make me lol while reading. This one nails comedic timing. #booksky #books #quanbarry #literaryhorror
I usually read one printed book while also listening to a different audiobook. So two at a time.
This book was phenomenal
Cover art for kindred by Octavia butler, showing a black woman in a simple dress standing in front of a field
Books #29 of 2026: Kindred by Octavia Butler
4.75/5 ⭐️
This is such an original story and so well told. The plot got a little repetitive in the middle, but each scene felt important. The characters’ motivations were complex and were well dissected

Paul Tremblay’s Pallbearers Club
My read for this week. About halfway through. What are you reading? #booksky #literaryhorror
Great book! I made the mistake of reading it on kindle and I didn’t see the illustrations till later.
I’m reading this one very soon! I can understand the simplicity of the plot (since it’s geared towards younger readers), but I’ve heard the writing is wonderful.
Oooh…now I see why everyone loved to recommend this one! Just needs to stick the landing. #booksky
Shadow of the Wind this weekend
Do you believe in ‘Postmodernism’?
I recently listened to an old interview between Kazuo Ishiguro and Michael Silverblatt in which the term Postmodernism was questioned…and now I’m falling down the rabbit hole. #booksky
Octavia E. Butler uses time travel to confront our history of slavery in her 1979 novel ‘Kindred’. #booksky #octaviabutler #bookreview #bookrecommendation #modernclassic #speculativefiction
I loved this one! Yes, def worth the wait.
Read some books because they were hyped: Dungeon Crawler Carl, The Haar, and Our Wives Under the Sea. #booksky
