All video games need a βoh shit let me undo that I did not mean to press that particular button and drink eight of my rarest potions but I am playing too many games at the same time and forgot which button does whatβ option.
Lil Gator Game π₯Ή. I picked a good time to play this because Lil Gator Game DLC, In the Dark, is scheduled to release on February 12!
Games Iβve finished in 2026!
Spilled on Steam Deck! I loved this game from Lente. She lives on a boat irl and this game is about cleaning up oil spills. I just wish there were more levels!!!
A Short Hike was the last game I technically finished in 2025. Itβs so cute and cozy. After that I played a lot of Animal Crossing and Hades 2 over the rest of Christmas break.
I played so much of Donkey Kong Bananza when it released and then came back to it recently to wrap up the main story. I like how unserious this game is. The bananza mode versions of DK are wild, haha.
Pokemon Legends Z-A. A couple thoughts- I wish the game leaned more into French culture and atmosphere. Most of the streets and buildings felt repetitive and didnβt have distinct character or soul. I generally love Pokemon OST but didnβt enjoy the music in this game. I also miss wonder trade.
I enjoyed Dispatch! I look forward to seeing the story play out again when @haggisaddict.bsky.social plays the game.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I laughed, I cried, and I plan to go back for a new game plus run!
I fell fully into the Animal Well world when I played it. I love the art, love the audio design, love the puzzles. It challenged me and itβs one of the rare games I got the plat for on PlayStation! I loved all of the Easter eggs π while playing.
Earlier this summer I finished It Takes Two! I really enjoyed the world and Iβm excited to play Split Fiction!
Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 took home 9 awards at this year's #TheGameAwards, earning the most wins in a single year, surpassing The Last of Us Part 2 in 2020.

In May I finished God of War 2018! I never had a PS4 so I missed the original release. I have nothing but high praise for this game and Iβm excited to continue with God of War RagnarΓΆk soon!
Alice Duport-Percier, the vocalist behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33βs soundtrack, is the fourth-most-streamed female artist in the US this year.

BREAKING: Silksong will be out on September 4. Two weeks from today. Really.
Often, games that take 7+ years to make are plagued by mismanagement and painful burnout. But for Silksong? Team Cherry was having a blast. They still are.

Monolith Soft announced they helped develop Mario Kart World alongside Nintendo EPD Production Group No. 9
Starting the Switch 2 era just like they did with Switch!
Mario Kart World was added to Monolith Soft's website.
Screenshot from Little Kitty, Big City where the cat is sitting on the hood of a red car, licking his paws. You can see cat paint footprints on the car.
Little Kitty, Big City is a short, cute, enjoyable game. I had fun exploring the city, completing the story, and finishing the achievements. This was a perfect βweekend morningβ game. I wish there was more music and ambient noise in the world (personal preference). I can picture a sequel or DLC! π€
Screen capture from the game Chicory, where Chicory and the main character are floating in the water near a beach.
Chicory really surprised me. Itβs a relaxing, heartfelt game that also dives into mental and emotional health. The story, the art style, the music, the puzzles - everything works together beautifully. I love animals, art, painting, and a good OST - so this game checked all the boxes for me.
Well, that was a dream come true. Knew it wouldn't last, though. Out of a job at the moment. But I'll always be doing patreon.com/gamemess

Screen capture of Astro Bot posing with gophers, a pigeon, and a giant smiling tree.
Games I played in 2025!
I started Astro Bot over the 2024 holiday season but really got into the game in January. I keep going back to the game to replay levels. Iβve rescued 319/320 bots so far! Playing Astro Bot is getting me excited to play (and replay) some platformers this year.
