So I've decided to really hunker down and write. I'm not lacking for inspiration, because I have a notebook full of ideas. I need to start realizing them.

People keep saying we don’t allow room for nuance on Bluesky with regard to AI & the reason why this is the case is because under a capitalist controlled carcerally rabid surveillance state it is absolutely the only logical position.

It always begins w Convenience Creep too. So now I’m against that

NSA detected phone call between foreign intelligence and a person close to Trump Whistleblower says that Tulsi Gabbard blocked agency from sharing report and delivered it to White House chief of staff

The Guardian has a rough outline of what the Tulsi whistleblower complaint is about: NSA found someone close to Trump in contact with foreign intelligence, and rather than doing something about that, Tulsi brought the report to Susie Wiles.

A lot of the suburbs around Minneapolis & St. Paul are getting hit hard, including people just walking and getting snatched off the street.
They also are continuing to be extra aggressive towards observers.

Like Carrie said: NOTHING HAS CHANGED.

This is not hard. Artists are not responsible for ensuring the Kennedy Center remains relevant and successful. The center’s board is responsible for that, in a fiduciary way. All of this energy being directed at artists should be re-directed at the board.

This is happening because a bunch of rich assholes have invested a ton of money in AI but aren't seeing the gains. Heaven forbid the take the loss on this.

Saw The Running Man last night and I loved it. I have some criticism regarding the writing being heavy-handed at times but its a much better adaptation of the King novel. It definitely captures the tone and the desperation of the character. Glen Powell and Coleman Domingo are absolutely brilliant!!

People think it’s funny but one of the best tests of a person and systems is how it treats three types of people :

- servants
- poets
- children

How someone feels about those people and their accountability to and FROM them is a huge statement about their beliefs

Early last semester, Droubi said, students began approaching Cheyfitz with complaints that a graduate student in the “Gaza, Indigeneity, Resistance” class appeared to be recording them, possibly to “gather their names and comments” and intimidate them. “We believe that a student came to the course for the sole reason of surveilling and potentially harming students in the class,” Droubi said. “That ended up proving itself to be true because multiple students came forward and shared their concerns with Professor Cheyfitz.” Cheyfitz said one Palestinian student quit the class after telling him she felt upset and frightened.

According to Cheyfitz, the graduate student often steered conversations away from the assigned readings—which at that point mostly focused on definitions of genocide and international law on Indigenous rights—to defend Israel’s conduct in the war in Gaza and argue with others in the class. “He clearly had not done the readings,” Cheyfitz said. “It was disruptive.”

Cheyfitz said he met with the graduate student in late January and spoke to him about concerns from his classmates. During the conversation, he asked the graduate student to drop the course, and by the next class, he did, Cheyfitz said. The graduate student, Oren Renard, a PhD candidate in computer science whose identity was confirmed by other students in the class, previously served in Israel’s elite military surveillance agency, Unit 8200, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Cornell is cancelling a distinguished professor's classes on Gaza and suspending him because of the complaints of a student who previously served in Israel's military surveillance agency and was literally recording the comments of other students in class and deliberately derailing discussion.

It goes without saying that this is a lie, of course, but here's the statement that explicitly refers to comments he made and does not refer to ratings at all.

For a movement that gained so much momentum by claiming everyone around them was a "snowflake." its funny to watch them basically go, "my Dad said you're not allowed to make fun of me!"

He was their next big thing. That's clear in this push to canonize and sanitize his image. The train is off the rails at this point because the very people he was meant to lead just murdered him. Black people, especially Black women, were screaming about this back in the early 00s.

I also think they dont want people to note that within their ranks that there is an unhinged smaller group they've empowered but cannot really control. The push to remove him from any affiliation with right-wing rhetoric despite evidence to the contrary

Sometimes you don't have to give an event more attention than it warrants for a day or two, and you need to step back and realize that giving it oxygen serves the vile and insidious of interests that seek to distract and deflect from the material harms they commit.

Food for thought.
