Cycling side-by-side isn’t bad behaviour—it’s human behaviour. It’s how parents talk to their kids. How friends catch up. How communities form.

If bicycle infrastructure is too narrow for people to ride and talk together, the problem isn’t the people. It’s the infrastructure.

Nørrebro, Copenhagen.

Denmark responded to 1973 oil crisis by reducing car-dependency. Let's do that now. - Streetsblog Chicago "The government had to introduce car-free Sundays. And then people realized that the car-free Sunday was the best day of the week."

FYI the 1970s oil crisis was the impetus for Copenhagen turning into a cycling city

At today's Repair Café for @transitionwilmslow.bsky.social I darned three jumpers, mended two pockets on a coat, shortened leggings, sewed a trouser button on, & visibly patched a hoodie.

Landscape ecological restoration. It can be done but we need to get a move on. This is Carrifran where the sheep were removed to allow this native woodland to take over.

A poster on a white background. At the top it says: “Remember this? Have your say on Local heating! Come to a public meeting”. There is a graphic of houses of different shapes and sizes, and three people standing on grass. Two are holding hands and one is waving. Sick of heating bills spiking up when there is conflict in other countries? 🚨

Would you support a local, not-for-profit, clean heating system that gives communities more control? 🙌

Come to our event on a community heat network at Craigmillar Library, 17 March! See comments / poster for details.👇

A few years ago, we learnt that crottin (poo) specifically means goat poo. So crottin de chevre is tautological. Doesn't spoil the enjoyment. If anything, it brings a knowing twinkle to the eye!

E-bike scheme gives 67-year-old joy and a new lease of life Frances King, 67, who lives with osteoporosis, was referred to Cherwell District Council’s Move Together programme to support her in becoming more…

Is riding an e bike cheating?
No, it's just like doing 20 reps at a low weight instead of 10 at a heavy weight in the gym. You get the exercise anyway. AND you might be more likely to get on the bike in the first place.

On Thursday only Greens can beat Reform in Gorton and Denton. And we will beat their hate with a message of hope.

One of my pastels from nearly 30 years ago showing a path across Jesus Green in Cambridge. I think this was late in the year with a few leaves hanging on to the trees with some autumn colour remaining. It was bought by a late friend and is now with his family.
