What you don't get is that it's mainly disgust we're feeling.
Was in a nearly empty 747 to NYC a few days past 9/11. Had no 2nd thoughts; the US were an ally that had been hit hard.
These days, the behaviour of the US, ICE, police, many of its citizens is deplorable, and the risks of going there can't be calculated. No way would I enter that plane.

I remember that - back then - US Navy ships sailed in between the oil tankers they guarded because - unlike the tankers - they weren't able to withstand mine hits.
The IRGCN has several thousand speedboats. Question is: How many of those can be used to lay mines, and how does the USN distinguish between those that can and those that can't. I guess we'll have to wait for the experts to chime in.
