sometimes, if youβre up early enough, you can hear them turn the birds on
I canβt block them fast enough
Oliver Twist, what a shame. Put himself out there in front of everyone. And for what? Some gruel? A man must live on his feet. I would gladly kill or die for gruel but I would never let it drive me.
Criminal police state must be abolished
Really appreciate the work that requires your feeds are such great spaces

I did! I posted it in the replies
Such a cool shot, love the profile and how his head stands out from the background, but while showing how effective his camouflage is with the body against the tree. Donβt often get both at once.
The full sneeze-quence
A Northern Pygmy-Owl perched on a branch next to the after-effects of a violet sneeze.
A personal favorite, the Northern Pygmy-Owl. I love any tiny predator.
This little guy had just sneezed, adding a nice/disgusting pop of yellow to the image π

Thank you so much! Iβve never really shared my photos with anyone before joining Bluesky, and I was very nervous about it. This means the world, thank you!
Take your own
Thank you! Theyβre incredible birds, sometimes Iβll take a photo of one and it wonβt even look real itβs so blue
A mountain bluebird taken last spring.
Iβve always particularly struggled getting good shots of these guys, they seem to taunt me. Iβll find one posing perfectly, raise my camera, try to get it framed up, and itβs gone.

Thank you! My grandma used to make a big deal about seeing hummingbirds when I was a kid, it made me think they were rare at the time. Looking back, she just loved them! I always think of her when I see one now
Thanks Kevin! Dippers are one of the birds that help get me through the winter, itβs always so exciting to find one and even better to get a good shot
Incredible! I love how even the reflection seems to disappear into the fog
Thank you!

Thank you!
Thank you so much! I wish I had that power lol, this one and another were diving in the area and I just laid down and waited. Luckily this was a pretty obvious perch, not much else was around, and sure enough one popped right out of the water and onto the log!
An American Dipper, an aquatic songbird, perched on a log in the middle of a creek.
An American Dipper hunting on St. Vrain Creek.
To capture this shot, I laid belly-down in icy winter mountain runoff. I stayed as long as I could bear the cold.
Brutal at the time, but I love that now I have a photo not just of a dipper, but of a memory.
