Does no one else use cursive now? How do they write? π
19 - never had an AOL address. Remote connected to the tv by a cable? π³ we went straight from changing channels on the tv to standard remote, also the size of TVs back then π
π³π³π³π³π³ and itβs coming out in July?! You sure you donβt want to release it early as a Christmas present? βΊοΈ if they ever make this series into films this would make an excellent alternative Christmas movie
9th July!!!! Carnival was my favourite Aldo so far so I canβt wait until Shadow of Madness comes out. I may be jumping to conclusions but Iβm very happy that it looks like Saul may be going with Cesare on his latest quest π
Itβs a while since I read it but Barbara Erskines Whispers in the Sand is set in modern/ancient Egypt and involves hauntings
Karin Slaughter did this a few years back and at the time I was heartbroken but looking back it was an excellent decision - that said, youβd best not kill off Saul π
And now Iβm dying to know what the book is, and is it good??
Yeah I think so too, and itβs not that long ago that spending time in the countryside was a standard reaction to TB so a connection with the city and disease would probably be there even if it wasnβt understood
I also suspect anything spread by mosquitoes etc would be βcarried by airβ and so thereβs a bunch of other possibilities (also even plague itself as Iβm not sure how much would have been understood about the means of transport)
Possibly cholera?
Just remember, Iβm here if you need meβ¦ π
Eek! Sounds scary π§ (an asylum? Iβm already nervous for Aldo), but it doesnβt come out until next year and the anticipation is killing me π³π (are you sure you donβt need a beta reader?)
Ooooh, pity, I like the current naming style but Iβm sure whatever you go with will be great
Could be your next book title βBloody Thursdayβ π
SchrΓΆdingerβs cancer - sums it up perfectly
I suppose Aldo is late 30βs at the beginning of the series and MG is 47 now so pushing it a bit but Luca could be a good fit, he just needs to look a bit rougher -Aldoβs had a hard life π
Good choice π I always have Matthew Goode in my head as Aldo
@dvbishop.com just finished Carnival of lies and absolutely loved it! Such great characters (I would love to see this series on the big screen). I think itβs my favourite Cesare Aldo book π
As if cancer itself wasnβt bad enough, it also creates a barrier between you and your loved ones. Theyβll struggle to understand. They want to help but theyβve got their own feelings to process. So theyβll inevitably be clumsy with the words they use.

A year ago today I had my first appointment with oncology, I only had a 50% chance of even having the surgery I needed, let alone how I would respond to chemo. Yesterday I was told that Iβm still cancer free 1 yr on, yes thereβs a high chance of recurrence but today Iβm taking the win π₯
I remember that! We had two pens which seemed very fancy, blue for spectra, red for intergrals βΊοΈ
It can be hard for loved ones to find the right words with cancer. But they need to try.
At the same time, those going through cancer need to exercise patience and generosity of spirit when people trying to support them inevitably get it wrong.

Poor choice of wording from the bbc π
Roadworks at ours - new tarmac on one side of the entrance to our lane, road being ripped up on the other π
Newspaper report describing rats in Birmingham as the size of cats
News report describing rats as the size of small kittens
CNN βrats bigger than catsβ
BBC βtheyβre the size of small kittensβ
Personally I donβt care how big they are, I donβt want them near me
I donβt hate the βbattleβ wording as such, just the idea that thereβs much choice - itβs not like I chose to go to war, itβs more like self defence and sometimes just cowering in a corner taking the blows π
Absolutely, I completely agree. Iβm also stage 4 and I totally get how you feel β€οΈ
