anyways i shit on small town living a bit but I’m truly thankful for my experience growing up in a remote rural area bc it’s so easy to stereotype “rednecks” but in most situations it’s way more nuanced then that

something I’ve encountered is that, with a small population and low population density in many areas, in many situations in Canada you *have* to rely on people who are different from you and be blessed by the kindness of strangers, and it’s truly a gift!!!

same same like it’s -15 today, over zero tomorrow, snow on Friday, plus 6 on Saturday…make it make sense.

we have gotten so much snow as well, which I’m hoping bodes well for like fire and farm season, but it means that this winter has been nonstop bellyaching about snow removal like…everyone’s just doing their best in unprecedented times!!!

listen i love ao3 as much as the next guy but ive seen people quit fic writing over the past few years because people comment and engage with authors way less, and then everyone still freaks out when ao3 goes down- if a fic is irreplaceable to u, let the author know!

if the ao3 blackout taught us anything, it’s that you should always thank your fic writers 🖤
