Please remember, every time you see a newspaper or magazine article denigrating people - people like myself - who choose to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2, there will always be a tiny, quiet voice in the mind of the author whispering, 'what if they're right'?
We are right.
Ableism makes you think you will be the exception.
Disability wonβt happen to you.
Youβre βbetter than thatβ.
Youβre βstrongerβ.
You will succeed where the rest of us failed.
Itβs not true. Disability can & does happen to almost everyone.
Itβs not a moral failing.

tern @1goodtern There are two main ways to make people feel safe: 1) lie to them that there is no danger 2) take action to reduce the danger Why, in the name of all that is rational, did society choose option 1. 1:05 AM Β· Nov 5, 2025 Β· 18K Views
Society only chose option 1 because they were lied to.

"Only the vulnerable are at risk"
Repeat it enough times and people believe thereβs no danger.
Denial is easy. Prevention takes effort.

I experienced this at 47 as a female.
Clara, age 11 says "I feel exhausted, sometimes I can't get out my bed, I have to use a wheelchair, I have to be on a part time timetable at school but sometimes I don't get in for that, I don't see a lot of my friends"

The cruelty of saying βhospitals are readyβ by increasing ICU beds and body bagsβ¦ instead of fixing the ventilation.
Just mull over that for a bit #MedSky.
Any and all ways we can bring attention to those of us suffering with Long Covid is a win. Lots of tourists were stopping by and leaving positive comments yesterday.

If you thought wearing a mask was βtoo hardβ, you really wonβt like living with chronic illness.
Everything about the chronic illness existence is hard.
Itβs suffering, fatigue, pain and abandonment.
Itβs having to mask all the time because no one else wants to protect you.

Yes. Think of the disability costs if they acknowledged that Covid is in schools. Instead they put school staff in crowded classrooms without PPE and then when we get sick deny the existence of Long Covid. Teachers are second only to healthcare workers when it comes to Long Covid in Canada.
