I sometimes worry that too many people think being a good critic means being a self-righteous dick about every little thing and I think far too many miss the point that you can't critique anything if you don't know how to love something.
I am so tired of "What if they were gay?" being the most disgusting, insultung thing straight people can think of.

The thing that drives me nuts about people who talk about Platner being "deserving of redemption" is that Platner has never really acknowledged what he did wrong in the first place. Paths to forgiveness and redemption can and should exist. But like, you have to earnestly get that you messed up.

If you get into a “who can cut taxes more” battle with the GOP, you’re going to lose because they are far more shameless and antagonistic to the idea of living in a functioning society.

This entire narrative depends on a willful blindness to the basic realities of trans life in America. Being trans, especially as a child, is hard! Kids are not getting hoisted on their classmates’ shoulders the minute they put on a dress. There are huge pressures to be cis, not to stay trans.
I am 100% sure that have been more articles about youth gender surgeries than actual youth gender surgeries in 2026. When is someone going to reckon with the fact that ‘pivoting’ on this issue means signing on to a moral panic?

Individually, each post could easily be dismissed, but taken together, they seem to form something more deliberate: a stream of repurposed Nazi propaganda for the everyday person’s feed.
Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.
