A day care owner shot her husband over sex abuse. Out of prison, she has no regrets. Shanteari Young, 53, of Owings Mills, used to own Lil Kidz Kastle Daycare Center and finished serving her four-year sentence on Dec. 17 for aggravated assault and carrying a pistol without a license.

Four years ago, Shanteari Young shot her then-husband after learning that he sexually abused children at her day care.

Having finished a four-year sentence in prison, Young now wants to advocate for children who’ve experienced sexual abuse
