I taught my Y10 group Sine and Cosine rules this week. They’ve told me they’re ditching SOHCAHTOA and using them instead as they prefer them!
Should we just teach Sine and Cosine rules from the start?
I like setting an old UKMT Junior Maths Challenge from the website - answers are easy to share, the aim is to get as many points as they can in the lesson 😃

There doesn’t seem to be an allowance for that (AQA option 2a), though I get students to do this anyway 🤷🏼♀️😊
Calculators only for me! Can be high stakes if they mess up, e.g. put in the wrong mean for a few questions, as mark schemes still reward use of tables… 😳
I've spent this evening making a second "Is it plausible?" worksheet as my first one was really successful with my Y11's. I've tried to add more money sense questions into this one to help.
