Because you sickos love this, here's the updated flip count in legislative seats since the start of Trump's second term, following tonight's Dem win in New Hampshire:

Democrats: 28

Republicans: 0

Wild to live in a country where we could have had affordable housing and health care and instead we have masked police, concentration camps, and war with Iran

Look at these charts. TransUnion and Experian, two of the three major credit bureaus, have started dismissing a larger share of consumer complaints without help. The timing coincides with the Trump administration’s dismantling of the CFPB. www.propublica.org/article/cred... @joeljacobs.bsky.social

Most importantly, Sacramento is *officially* the housing king of California. Effing bananas considering how our rents are literally half as much of most of these other guys and still Sac is outbuilding the rest of the state.

The housing crisis is a choice! Your city could choose to stop doing it!

Fascinated by this. My Moroccan brother-in-law says they are everywhere in Casablanca. In-laws said the ones they rode in Thailand were great. Seeing them in a closer market will be very interesting

Which car do you have? I’m curious how accessible fast charging is outside of the Tesla network

I’ve gotten 3 of my family members on EVs now. I don’t think any of us will go back. Most of us are in two car families with one gas car remaining. Just waiting for range and charging infrastructure to expand and make it possible to ditch those

So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."

Gandalf: β€œAlways after a defeat and a respite, the Shadow takes another shape and grows again”

'I wish it need not have happened in my time,' said Frodo. 'So do I, said Gandalf, 'and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Well, when you put it that way

It just feels like a weird process to ditch a market differentiator (bags fly free), not be ready for the very obvious result of more carryons, and then spend a bunch of money and lose asset availability to upgrade overhead bins in response to unhappy customers

πŸ’― β€œmoderate” is really about messaging, in terms of voter appeal. Had one boss who coupled universal healthcare with entrepreneurship. Coverage enables people to go out and take risks to start a business

Plus most swing voters don’t fall on a policy spectrum, but rather look for resonant messaging

I have not like how many Dems have supported Trump nominees

That said, I think this is the right messaging. Easy to say this and then stop all Trump’s nominees as extreme and/or unqualified lackeys

Not saying Schatz is doing exactly this, but it does give more rhetorical room to attack Trump

Trump claims he "lifted" 2.4 million people "off of food stamps" ... those were literally the people kicked off of SNAP by the work requirements he implemented.

Man this feels on point. I used to feel like I should really be learning to incorporate AI into my work and now I’m thankful that I never really did, so I still know a couple things

Not to say that there aren’t uses, but I think that should be more as research squirrel than personal ghostwriter

1) they don’t have close to the manpower to do that. MAYBE they could mess with 1 or 2 mid sized cities
2) Dems vote early and by mail in huge numbers. Too decentralized to mess with at scale
3) any such action would generate overwhelming backlash creating better E-day turnout than Dem money can buy

America's Richest People Are Not its Most Generous

America's Richest People Are Not its Most Generous

Fascinating chart with one outlier: Warren Buffett.

At the low end, giving 0.06% of one's wealth is equivalent to:

Net worth -> Lifetime Giving
50K->$30
100K->$60
500K->$300
$1M->$600

Most folks give far more by % in a *single year*.

Opinion | Affordability and the β€˜Epstein Class’ Will Define American Politics

β€œWhen Citizens United was decided in 2010, billionaires had spent $18 million on the 2000 election, $13M 2004 and $16M in 2008. Then came the deluge. In 2012 it was $231M, and nearly doubled again in next three election cycles β€”to $682M in 2016, $1.2 billion in 2020 and $2.6 billion in 2024.” Gift:

The pace at which US wealth concentration is rising is simply staggering

The concentration of AI wealth into the hands of a few tech barons + plutocratic capture ==> unchartered territory

An absolutely unhinged political maximalist take? Dems in red states across the country should introduce passport as voting ID only bills. Get us a few congressional seats and probably help in TX, OH, and maybe even Florida

Prosecutions need to be broad and aggressive. Highly publicized too, because there needs to be widespread condemnation and social exclusion for this

Instead of Pandering, Democrats Should Try Changing Voters’ Minds How can the party of liberalism make liberal ideas more popular? By creating a more liberal electorate. Yes, it can be done. Here are five ways how.

Conservatives are wild man. One minute they’ll be like no you can raise the minimum wage 50 cents you’ll kill all the business

The next they can’t figure out why it creates problems for a company to lose a multi-billion dollar annual market which happens to be the biggest in the world
