but it's not like that. it's like a bicycle. too slow & you fall. it has to be in motion even awkwardly to get where you're going.
I had an absolute blast at this party btw. My only complaint was that too many people I love were having too many fun conversations and I couldn't give them all my attention at the same time, and that's a good complaint to have.

my sister saw this cute valentine's craft someone made online that used accordion-folded paper to make a lil hug, and she texted me because she thought it would be cute to make one for her husband that was actually the size of their baby.
An attempt has also been made for vaguely birdy food?? Pesto spaghetti and mini meatballs which will ideally be arranged like a nest with eggs, veggie platter (birds eat plants), berry fruit salad, and dirt pudding w/ gummy worms in lieu of cake!!
I have also made some bunting featuring Pennsylvania birds!! I’m still cutting these out but will def share photos when it’s hung up.
(I don’t know what the real term for that is—in my area we always play them at baby and bridal showers, where it’s like “sit down if you’re wearing purple.” This version is “sit down if your bird is not native to the state where you currently live” etc.)
It is a BIRDthday!! My guests will be dressed as the bird of their choice, there will be an origami corner and a “how many birds can you spot in my apartment” game (I have not had to acquire any additional birds for this activity), and a Stand Up/Sit Down game.
