Opinion | In a War of Words, Trump Always Defeats Himself The public started out opposing the conflict inΒ Iran. That will be a problem if things go south.

Fine piece from Gerard Baker @wsj.com

"It was said of Churchill that he mobilized the English language & sent it into battle. Trump’s trick with the mother tongue is to douse it in gasoline, set it on fire & drop it in a dumpster in the middle of his own parade ground."

This is, quite simply, not remotely true. One generation ago? In 2002? What about two and three generations ago? Nope. Not remotely true. It doesn't advance discussions of political economy to make absurd claims like this.

A lot of journalism folks are offering editing advice as Grammarly’s AI β€œexperts” Grammarly's AI-powered "Expert Review" promises "writing feedback by subject-matter experts," and if you write about journalism, there's a good chance that includes you.

I can't decide if I should be relieved my work hasn't been stolen in this way or offended that I'm not prominent enough for Grammarly to steal my work. www.niemanlab.org/2026/03/a-lo...

This has been my assessment of Elon since about 2017 or so and it’s only gotten firmer: a dumb person’s idea of a smart person. (Like somebody said about Trump being a poor person’s idea of a rich person.) He started his career by building city guide software for newspapers, very dot-con.

Like a lot of things rich guys believe and fund, the AI consciousness thing is in part driven by a desire to abscond from the responsibility of what they've made. It also explains why so many of them think we're in a simulation. Doesn't matter if everybody died if we're all just 1s and 0s baby!

"OpenAl needs to generate $200bn in annual revenue by 2030 to justify their projections.
That's 15x growth in five years while costs keep exploding," George Noble, a veteran financial analyst, said in a post on X.
"The diminishing returns are becoming impossible to hide. Competitors are catching up. The lawsuits are piling up," Noble added.

Even this piece about β€œexperts” gets stuff wrong, it was blatantly obvious that HSBC estimate was wrong in November, and quotes a guy off of Twitter who is saying stuff that’s numerically incorrect. They need more than that revenue! AhhhHhhhhh
