Upto that point you didn’t really understand that evil existed… remember watching the news and just being confused that someone could do such a thing.

I was 10 years old when Holly and Jessica went missing and I remember it being the first time as a kid I didn’t feel safe. It made me feel scared.

He took a whole lot more from those poor girls but he stole the innocence of a hell of a lot more children too at that time.

I know they’re being left in safe hands and being left in a really good place and they’ll do brilliantly but it’d have been nice to be there to calm them before the real thing and see their faces afterwards when they know they’ve smashed it.

The class I’ve had since the start of y10 got their last mock results this week. In a school that peaks at 40% 4+, 20 of the 28 students have achieved a 7+ in this mock. Unreal effort from these guys who are thriving in a challenging environment. Really sad to not see them through to their GCSE but…

A kid coming up with a strong year 6 SATs score theoretically should do well on the foundation paper do we really need to water it down further?

Perhaps exact trig values/trig all together could be removed but we have a divide already.

And it’s likely to come from a far away land however if under 18s don’t have access to social media you remove the bullets from the gun.

I don’t believe the ‘wars’ exist but I believe the pandemonium caused by the worry of parents due to the social media traction this is getting is very real.

And yet we’ve had parents pulling students out school today/fetching them during p5 because of the posts mentioning our school on Snapchat

School wars - yet another example of why kids should be banned from social media and why any government falling short of doing this is just paying lip service to a huge problem.

Labour would have won had they have gone for Burnham looking at those results.

I suspect we’d probably have very little to argue about on this to be honest and I’m nitpicking choice of language after a long day of teaching and mock marking.

I understand that - I don’t think that the phrase making a meal of things was appropriate mind.

We’re all still here in this job because we are deeply about improving the life chances of our students.

Controversial opinion but I don’t think you have to be respectful in reply to somebody telling you (someone at the frontline of this) that schools make a meal of things when since at least 2017 they haven’t worked within a school as an educator or leader.

seriously I know I’m angry but what is the justification for this? We do 6 parents evenings a year, 2 for year 11 and 1 for all other year groups. Why would we have half of them in the shortest half term?

Just the 3 parents evenings in this 5 week half term.
