forcing myself to not do any work on my game this weekend so i go into monday excited to work on it wish me luck and also wish me that i don't go back on this in like 2 hours

i've been in a torment chamber for 3 hours of 'i keep redrawing my game's UI/menu assets and then realize they look horrible at one specific resolution that's also a different resolution each time' i don't wanna do UI anymore i understand nintendo's evils now

i've started getting more out there stuff recommended to me on twitter because i exclusively use it for finding art and most of it has been good/fine so far so i can't wait for it to do what it apparently does for everyone who does that and i start seeing shit i've never even thought about before

there's a single digit number of games that have managed to get me actually seriously emotionally invested in the way they COULD actually punch me in the stomach and the only repeat series is kingdom hearts. and one of those times was winnie the pooh. this can't be my legacy

i really wish more games had scenes that actually punched me in the gut with "oh my god they're actually going for that" i'm kinda miffed the last time it happened was years ago and it was kh1 having winnie the pooh pull out the "how do i cope with the fact i will die?"

fun fact for the uninitiated: this is why we make video games now. if your video game doesnt have this it must be added as soon as possible

i think a big part of the constant releases is also that if a kid doesn't like one it's not like. oh shit i guess i have to wait over a decade for a second one of these i enjoy to come out in my lifetime
