βI CANNOT BELIEVE someone is going to be singing in SPANISH at a show in SANTA CLARA, outside SAN FRANCISCO, in CALIFORNIA!β
Hereβs the situation in the Twin Cities:
Random Bovino-style tear-gassing: Way down
Relentless persecution of immigrants: Unchanged
Thuggish violence against observers: Way up
worth noting that the second rich people stopped being afraid of mobs tearing them limb from limb, they stopped building libraries and opera houses and stuff and started ripping the copper wiring out of the walls of society instead
"This is the most interventionist government of my lifetime," Justin Wolfers, an economist at the University of Michigan, told MeidasTouch in an interview released Sunday. "Itβs the least conservative government of my lifetime."
In Trump's telling, the US are the equivalent of the Nazis
I guess Cruz was βfuck iceβ all along
I attended a Border Patrol recruitment event. By never saying βno,β I was corralled from standing near the recruitment table to having a completed application submitted on my behalf, and I received a tentative selection days later.

Everyone who has gotten rich since Jan 2025 should vote Republican in the midterms and everyone who hasnβt should vote Democrat.
"Sir! This is a warning!" the agent yelled as he punched the man's vehicle window. "Stop fβking following us! You are impeding operations! This is the United States federal government!" "I live over here," the driver explained. "I got to get to my house." "This is your warning!" the officer exclaimed. "I serve the Lord; go to church," the resident replied. "I will arrest you!" the officer threatened. "Don't make a bad decision," another agent warned. "I serve the Lord," the driver repeated. "Not a draft-dodging coward." "Let these people go to church," the driver added. "Let these people serve the Lord and worship." "You're not going to like the outcome of this, sir," the first officer said. "I guarantee that... Did you not learn from what just happened [when Renee Good was killed]?" "Learn what?" the driver asked. "I serve the Lord, not a draft-dodging coward. I can't believe you'd take orders from a draft dodger."
it's incredible how if you put this entire dialog into the Left Behind series, it would basically work, but instead it's just IRL MN
If I was the commander in chief of the Imperial hegemon I would simply not dismantle the network of military and diplomatic alliances, favourable trade deals, and broad cultural paramountcy that had made my nation the most wealthy and powerful the world has ever seen.
How I'm walking out of 2025
Nothing good can come from a society being forced to stare into the abyss that is the mind of any random billionaire
It's not a foolproof plan but every political debate from now on should be a Normal Guy competition. Ask them to describe grocery shopping in detail. Talk about what it's like to have a friend
Marjorie Taylor Greene has been disliked by the left for years and years and had never had to fear for her life. She's been disliked by the right for 1 day and now has to hire security.
βWhatβs the matter? CIA got you pushing too many pencils?β
Billie Eilish asked an important question: "If youβre a billionaire, why are you a billionaire?"
There are FIVE ways to accumulate a billion dollars:
1) Profiting from a monopoly
2) Insider-trading
3) Political payoffs
4) Fraud
5) Inheritance
Billionaires are the result of a failed system.
These are not complex metaphors, people

ah, well
I think often of this supervillain dialogue from Watchmen whenever people ask how to rescue the American Dream. Itβs a few generations too late
Starting a war bc nobody went to his birthday.
If you were too young in 2003 here is what Bush told the American people:
1) The Iraq War wonβt cost a lot of money
3) We wonβt need a lot of troops
4) Weβll bring peace and freedom to Iraq
5) Weβll find WMDs
6) Weβll be welcomed as liberators
7) It will be easy
8) It wonβt take long
All lies.
Forgot to tag @thelaurenelyse.bsky.social on this one.
Whenever law enforcement agents are given a quota of a specific number of people to arrest or detain, especially with the WH policy director screaming at their superiors to hit those target numbers, bad things are going to happen. Quotas always result in civil rights violations.
βOr am I origamiβ is the best visual rhyme in rock and roll
Just incredible
I used to go months without learning anything new about trade logistics, or constitutional law and frankly, I was happier then
This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!
