Follow-up on this: 24 hours in (about halfway through the game, if thats an indicator) and while I'm connected to AP, the game will randomly crash. Its a known but currently not solved issue. Game does not have autosave.
It is unstable and I cannot recommend at this time.

Gloria and Sloan from Bravely Default 2 concerningly look towards a Pokopia-style blobby version of Seth from the same game. Gloria and Sloan are rendered in a more painterly style and drawn close to the BD2 art style, while Seth is almost a flat cel-shaded lil guy. There is nothing going on in his head. He is also wearing a small sailor's cap with the ditto face on him.

i think I'm a bit late to this particular discourse but it's all well and good to say "we should critique indie games properly and not use kid gloves"
but my personal experience with covering indie games negatively is that multiple devs have had meltdowns at me and I was accused of harassment lol
