Day trip to Guangzhou means some choo Choo excitement ๐
I really enjoyed it, all of it. Went into it not knowing what to expect, thought they'd cocked up when they gave the wrong date for the moon landing in 1969 ๐คฃ
Sunrise over the mountains near Huizhou this morning. Very pretty.
Just finished SAS Rogue Heroes - really enjoyed that. Roll on season 3 ๐
Looking better following some fettling and butchery ๐ #scalemodel
Every day's a school day ๐ the F3 probe is also integrated into the fuselage rather than just scabbed onto the side.
No, it's the right side. This is an F.3.
Tricky work, this after market IFR probe for the tornado. Angles are all wrong ๐ก #scalemodel
Watched the first two last night, really good! I'm sure there are people out there complaining about historical accuracy but it's a bloody good watch!
Lovely! 27 done this year? You must have to do a lot of kit buying to maintain stash levels!
You've got 4 on the go at once! Good work! Two's about my limit, then I start losing the plot ๐คฃ
Also, just get stuck in and try stuff. What's the worst that can happen if you get something wrong? Says he who spends far too long prevaricating over which varnishes to use.. ๐คฃ
Happy New Year everyone! For no other reason than I feel like it, here's a couple of Phantoms at NAS Point Mugu back in 1999.
End of 2024 #scalemodel situation. Lovely smooth coat of gloss white on the undersides, ready for masking and some grey. Happy New Year everyone ๐๐ป
No, keep posting them. Sometimes I think it's not worth it cos no one's interested, but you'd be surprised! Happy New Year!
One more from my trip to @newarkairmuseum.bsky.social today (can you tell I don't get out much? ๐คฃ). MR.3s are my least favourite Shackleton variant, but it's still a shack!
Was an absolute pleasure to visit today, your museum is a treasure trove! Was particularly taken with your black Canberra - would have an interesting model subject! Must come back when it's warmer!
Cheeky visit to @newarkairmuseum.bsky.social on my way to Sheffield to pick up the lad from uni. Love a gannet, and she's in great nick!
She looks lovely! What new techniques did u use and how did you find them?
Thanks! ๐
Don't suppose anyone out there had used the Flightpath 1/72 detail set for the Tornado F.3. I'm struggling to understand how most of it is supposed to go together, the instrument panels don't even seem to fit the kit parts ๐
Yeah, I hate it when they do that. And the less said about that abomination of a website, the better! Yet, I keep going back so they must be doing something right..
Too cold to paint my Crusader, so going to have to start building something else instead. Feeling like a Tornado, hopefully going to be a 43 sqn machine ๐
Wot, no Lightnings? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Since pre shading on my Crusader. Never really got this to work before, let's see if this time is any different.. ๐ค
Our daughter's GCSEs are in May and there has been zero continuity of teachers for the last year. Stand- in teachers several times a week, teachers leaving left right and centre. It's a mess.
Found them! Can't find the blue phantom sheet in stock in the UK sadly ๐
777s do feel really cramped in economy, right enough, I guess just as they're smaller planes (than 380s)
Like all airlines, though, very much depends on how near the back of the plane you are. I flew BA economy back from Boston earlier in the year and was very happy it was only a 5 hour flight. Would have been the same for anything else in their fleet, I reckon.
Lovely! I've just got a FineMolds 1/72 F-4EJ and would like to do that vote scheme if I can get hold of the decals..
