Currently listening to @emmabclarke.bsky.social @bbcradio3bot.bsky.social on sounds. Opening piece Aspice Domine by Marian Consort is sublime. Do yourself a favor, stop the doom scrolling, and check it out.
@emmabclarke.bsky.social Listening now on sounds. The Aspice Domine is sublime. Thanks for sharing with us.
@emmabclarke.bsky.social Listening to the show now in U.S. Totally with you on the Mitsuko piano concerto. Just listened for the third time. Mesmerizing. I'm drinking tea btw.
Thanks to Alex Strada for a wonderful tour of her #CollectiveMobilities exhibit at Pratt. This is a collaborative exhibition that centers on redistribution and mutual aid to support Pratt's neighbors experiencing homelessness. www.pratt.edu/events/colle...
Found it on iTunes under B.H.A.M. Got the whole album. Thanks for introducing me! π
LOVED the Arowah piece. Any idea where I can get hold of it?
A point that bears repeating:
The anti-smoking movement was fueled by state/local activists who overwhelmed Big Tobacco's lobbying might.
The fight against car bloat needs to be grassroots as well. Even when Dems have power, the car industry's lobbyists have Washington in a stranglehold.
If you're stuck for something to listen to you could always hear me rabbit on about how segregation and division were woven into the urban fabric of Belfast. open.spotify.com/episode/0aru...
Superbly well-crafted interactive article that will appeal to both jazz aficionados and casual music lovers

I maintain that the only plan the city has for the crumbling BQE is to hope there aren't many people on it when it collapses.
Dangerous by Design extends to vehicles as well as roads.
Abject planning and urban design failure Exhibit A.
Tuned in to watch the second half of United v Arsenal and was greeted with this message and image. Think the algorithms at Peacock might perhaps need a little tweaking.
@martindege.bsky.social Fancy meeting you here! : )
Coming near the and of another wonderful semester where I had the privilege of getting to know and learn from this great bunch. Am sure they'll all gone on to do wonderful things. #PrattInstitute #ShapingTheContemporaryCity
New York subway design really does leave a lot to be desired.
Great resource for new arrivals like myself.
Great to see you here sir! Wondering when you'd get around to joining us. Are the rest of the TOTD gang here yet?
Well said Ms AOC. Don't rise to the clickbait.
Would fully endorse the fantastic aspects of Mishal Husain.
@pushtheneedle.bsky.social Fancy meeting you here!
'thereβs a level of imagination and determination in some of the best European projects, combined with a breadth of vision that includes the social as well as the functional aspects of housing, that our risk-averse public agencies have yet to match'

Must confess. I often think that I could do a better job managing Manchester United than the infinitely more qualified people who have failed at the job. Key difference I guess is that I'm the only one experiencing the delusions. The board and fans aren't going to indulge my fantasy.
Agree with this 1000%. Interesting that in my line of work (academia) people get really really annoyed if something is published that they've contributed to and they're not cited by name.
Reality check for Rubin at Portman Road.
Big shout out to Barbara Bullard for a great walking tour of street art in Bed-Stuy.
Christmas market at Bryant Park absolutely buzzing. Ticks all the boxes for great placemaking.
"For there is always light, as long we're brave enough to be it." Nicely said Amanda Gorman.
I teach them in America. I'm terrified for anyone who tries to mess with them.
