I hear what you’re saying, and men and women are prepared to go to war, but they rarely do…except in times such as these. We generally don’t have war mongers for presidents. More often we have diplomats, who know how to speak intelligently to leaders of other countries to maintain peace.

Not necessarily. In the US, many sign up for the benefits, some for the discipline, and there haven’t been active wars. In Russia and Ukraine, young men and women may not have a choice, as they are at war. People sign up for different reasons. Not all sign up to go to war.
