as in, they want you to keep staying in the Amazon ecosystem no matter what because it will eventually drive out all competition and then they can jack the prices up to whatever they want. I have and use KU when needed but I have begun my divestment from Amazon and u should too!! authors too!! 🩷🩷
re: boycotting Amazon (good) being a detriment to indie authors, I keep hearing the argument that reading enough on KU costs Amazon more than what you pay for the subscription— Amazon always has sold books at a loss, and I promise that they do not care. that's exactly what they want to happen.
like the cycle isn't going to break unless everyone collectively removes themselves from the Amazon ecosystem! Amazon requiring exclusivity so indie authors can't sell elsewhere is BAD! if readers find new places to buy, authors will follow.
