This is in no way a negative thing or a dig at artists. You all are amazingly creative people. Maybe I'm just drained on it or something but I don't get how you put thoughts to paper.

I really don't get how artists do what they do. I've been through a dozen tutorials. Followed all the 'If you're a beginner' guides. Then go to watch an established artist and none of those techniques are used. I just, I don't get it. How?
