Heβs been to see the friendly vet, at 17 heβs got plenty going on BUT he gets to see another day.
Still got some spirit in him thatβs for sure.
An article βMore than one million foreign nationals are receiving benefitsβ (March 17, 2025) referred to the number of βforeign nationalsβ receiving benefits, and gave the rate of benefit claims for various nationalities. In fact, the particular DWP data on which the article was based recorded the nationality of claimants when registering for a National Insurance number, rather than the nationality at the time they were claiming benefits, so that some claimants might have since acquired UK citizenship, and would not be foreign nationals at the time they were claiming benefits. This correction has been published following an upheld ruling by the Independent Press Standards Organisation. Advertisement
Fully *one year later*, the Telegraph has been forced (by @ipso.co.uk) to admit that it was lying about foreign nationals claiming benefits.
Tickets were a November birthday treat. Been well worth the wait.
Had a great evening at the Lowry watching @zaltzcricket.bsky.social
John Fisher (86/91) old boys at Wigan Beer Festival last night.
Rarely bother watching live Prem games on telly, this Newc v Man U game, the commentators have spent more time giving out score updates on other games and confirming last nights results.
Is it an editorial/production decision to do so and spoil #motd highlights?
Thereβs no need!
Someoneβs not feeling very sociable tonight πΆπ«£
As a Wiganer, I have first hand experience of how austerity and the abandonment by Westminster & the red wall has played out.
But I never anticipated such crushing levels of poverty or self destruction as this. #skol #wafc
Billy the Fish scenes in the Gosforth Hotel bar. #viz
Popped into #ludlowbrewery for dinner time pints and bacon butties.
You might just see Fudge on the scrounge. Might be blind and deaf but that nose is still pretty good.
The #EarlyDoors events in conjunction with @wigancouncil.bsky.social are an absolute triumph. Last night we saw James Walsh of Starsailor.
He pestered us to have a group photo
Just a moment before seeing your post, I was scrolling through the front pages on the bbc website.
The 1/4 stuck me too, my internal voice shouted βfuckoffβ
I also laughed at how selective they were with the photo of Rayner, when they were busy bringing her down, they went with a large wine glass.
Now that Iβm a resident of said area, Iβm going with Shevington too π
Itβs great album. Love the track Ramblin Man
More than happy to have Lisa Nandy as our proud towns MP. #wigan
βYou call it a shitshow β I say itβs unforgivableβ: Lisa Nandy on Epstein, Mandelson and Labourβs torrid week

After a poor start to life, heβs won the lottery.
Sheβs a beauty isnβt she!
Our old boy was about 1 when we got him from the rescue, heβs at least 16 now.
Heβs guided by nothing but his nose now. He enjoys a mooch & sniff in the garden, weβve tried him in a rucksack style bag & 2 different trolleys. This side on bag seems to be the most successful.
Eyesights as good as gone.
Deaf as a post.
Still enjoys a good sniff however can only manage a slow walk up the lane, but heβs now happy(ish) to get in his carrier for the walk back.

FA Cup tickets booked.
βHello Matey Peeps. Up the arseβ

One of Stuart Maconieβs books mentions that, he says (like most of us) his introduction to spag bol came in the form of a tin.
Every house had it sellotaped to the inside of the tins cupboard π€£
I reckon I had toast toppers for supper for a good three years straight.
Thatβs a good point, I donβt recall crisps being made here.
Weβd all have had the knockoff wonky ones with you codes to work out the flavour. Like we did with no label heinziziz.
Old school crisp - 10p goodness

Stunners πππ I have a boot in the same c/w and the classic shoe in beeswax leather.
Always been a fan of @clarksshoes.bsky.social Trek.

#Newcastle really does have some gems to offer the thirsty drinker whoβs prepared to put the hard yards in.
In #Newcastle this week.
In The Dubliner on the river.
Harryβs Bar, #Wigan looks classy in comparison.
Itβs Monday night on the table next to us.
