like unless people are just turning the gain up and making it go brrr idk how *else* you could possibly focus on loudness

see people always say this but im like, how else would you increase loudness other than with dynamics... is it not a given that loudness comes with variation... it just feels like different ways of saying the same thing? unless im missing something

like yeah sure the loudness comes from more polished production, ergo you should aim for it, right. assuming you care about production. like im not trying to be famous but i am interested in developing skills and stuff lol

i feel like everyone knows loudness is silly and pretends that therefore you shouldnt worry about it but if were being real doesnt everyone generally blow up when they get loud... like just off the top of my head grimes, gecs, yeule... im not really smart about this stuff but it seems obvious idk

my experimental era happened in the midst of covid decay/recovery so i wasnt able to plan for the future and now i have all these unfinished projects but im getting stronger and i know my limits so im like... go big or go home

i guess my point is like... i dont think anyone has to work hard or take stuff seriously if its not fun for them... but like for example if im not happy with my singing voice and i cant accept where im at, then my options are (a) give up music or (b) become a singer. and im not ready to give up yet

i guess this is obvious when you have like 1 main thing (gamedev is my default state, doing it daily comes naturally to me) but when its like 4 or 5 things plus eating and sleeping it becomes harder to keep up. but i cant quit so i guess i have to keep it up?

coming to terms with having too much to do (gamedev, music, writing, more gamedev, etc) i need to figure out if im gonna commit to all of it for the remainder of my life because if so then i need to seriously make time for all of it, like literally daily singing practice every morning forever, etc
