Had similar feels with Tom Lake (don’t read it unless you’re a girl with sisters) and My Brilliant Friend (good but was just kinda boring to me). Ftr, I loved Demon Copperhead, Stoner, & Pachinko - similar books in terms of style (maybe?).

I hate that feeling when I’m reading a book that is very well written and everyone loves it, but it bores me to tears. Experiencing now with Middlesex, which won a Pulitzer! 😭
