Hey yβall, my momβs energy bill is due and sheβs in need of support. Her bill is about $350. If I could raise $200, I can manage and pay the remaining $150. Anything helps. Thank you!

i would still love to know what happened in the meeting between mayor jacob frey and tom homan at minneapolis city hall on monday
βThe new legal landscape in Texas means that immigration lawyers in Minnesota have increasingly difficult options to free their clients being held in Texas.β
βAccording to ACLU policy counsel John Boehler, the courtβs decision to subject detainees to mandatory detention without bond hearings β where an immigration judge determines if a detained individual can be released from custody β is a particularly difficult blow.β
βThe ruling has significant ramifications for immigrants detained in Minnesota who have increasingly been rushed out of state to detention facilities in Texas, which is in the Fifth Circuitβs jurisdiction.β
βImmigrants held in Texas now have limited legal options and indefinite timelines for detention. And in Minnesota, immigration authorities will continue to send detainees out of state as quickly as possible.β

No, she said what she said.
Quite literally sitting here, worried about what this spring will look like once itβs warmer out.
We are not in any sort of aftermath. Our communities are still being targeted here.
Seriously. Liam Ramos and his dad have barely been home a week AND the administration is trying to expedite their deportation. People really think this child would be flying from Mpls to San Francisco right now?
What difference does 700 less agents make when the mere presence of a vehicle with tinted windows, whether ICE or not, has shifted oneβs psychological reality? Even if all agents left today, it would take an extensive period of time before one reaches *some sense of psychological safety.
Thinking about the cityβs Nobel peace prize nomination and anti-Blackness.
Learning that during Obamaβs administration, Hennepin County Jail had an office for ICE agents really crystallizes the bipartisan nature of immigration enforcement. It also neutralizes the current posture of the Hennepin County Sheriffβs Office.
Are there any local Twin Cities photographers on here whoβd be willing to let me borrow their Mamiya RZ or RB 67 for a photo project? π«ΆπΎ
The egregious amount of weapons munitions for crowd control they have stockpiled is all the confirmation for me. They donβt anticipate anything going as smoothly as they want everyone to believe.
Tomβs caveat for ICE leaving is that folks stop impeding on operations. I donβt think Minneapolitans are going to concede anytime soon.
I have a feeling theyβll be back in the spring.
Oh, thank you! π

Validating to know*
Ok, this is validating to because Iβve been talking to folks and the sentiment is the same over here too.π
Itβs good to see you too! I feel worlds apart right now from everyone Iβm used to seeing. Iβm taking it one day at a time. ICE was heavily in my neighborhood today. Mentally preparing for tomorrow. How are you holding up?
Itβs good to see you too. I miss you! I need to check in here more often. π
Twin Cities Bluesky, how are we doing tonight?π
Thank you, my friend.β€οΈ
