And Western Queens!
And Western Queens!
There's also a sizable contingency of people who grew up in NYC who have never had licenses and don't know how to drive. I'm about to turn 40 with no driver's license, and I shlep my daughter around town on a cargo ebike.
K-Bell missed a chance to say "Okay fiiiine" in her Snowman parody.
Yes. 85 percent of the "citizens of NYC" take the train or bus or bike or Uber. Only non-NYC people complain about it.
How do you independent journalists get access to this administration in the future? There's gotta be a Plan B for independent reporting in the near future.
Amen. Instant follow.
As the old adage goes, everyone hates marketing until they lose their cat.

I second this! The minimum requirement is two free evenings a month for most boards. Please apply!
As the first Bangladeshi elected CB chair in NYC, as a Millennial father of a 5-year-old, I URGE working people and parents to try to find two free evenings a month and APPLY! Now is the time to do it and advocate for our interests from this part of local government!
One of my board members had to move but has their business in my CN district, so they get to stay a member.
It's been retirees and seniors in these boards for years and years, which is why the ballot measure passed to implement term limits on board members. It's why I make the time to do this, because they don't advocate for us. WE have to. Please apply.
Hi, I'm the chair of Queens Community Board 2. I have a 5 year old. I'll be turning 40 this year. Being chair is a ton of work, but being a member isn't. Please don't wait. If you have 2 free evenings a month, do it now. WE need to show up and engage in this process!
The South Asians and Bangladeshis delivery workers she takes for granted would be quite interested to know she doesn't give a shit about them.
*Does he care? (He's alive, whoops) No. He doesn't.
And, like, it goes without saying you helped facilitate that pass. So thank you too for pulling over.
If Ben Carson were alive to see this.
I can't believe these fascists think they're on the same side as the groups that sang "Nazi punks f*CK off"
We gotta fight vibes with vibes. And Zohran Bhai's the only one selling vibes. Bottom of the notoriety list means nothing right now
Do you recommend a motorcycle or enclosed helmet for this forsaken cold? If so, any recs?
First week of NYC congestion pricing is very, very promising!
BTW, the density-affordability video is over to NYC Department of City Planning now. Bien joue et bonne chance! ;)
And here's 11:55 AM ET on Tuesday Jan 7.
12 pm ET on 3rd Ave and 42nd St on a Monday
4:30 PM ET on a Monday of congestion pricing on 3rd Ave and E42nd St
12 pm ET and 4:40 pm ET on a Monday on 3rd Ave and E42nd St. Usually it's a jam-packed madhouse around here at this time! We'll see what Wednesday and next Monday looks like but this is a notable difference in traffic congestion! #nyc #bikenyc
People of a certain generation and mindset don't consider walking most of the time. Big Auto has spent billions over decades to brainwash generations. Especially this guy who owns a $2M property in Manhattan crying about having to spend $9 instead of walking 10 blocks.
I'm hopeful that very soon, for the $9, you will get a faster commute into the CBD, faster getting around for jobs in the city, more street parking, and save more on gas without having to sit in traffic for many minutes.
Ugh, it'd be impossible for me to take this with my kid and cargo ebike, even though there are times it'd be so convenient from Astoria to Harlem. Maybe with my 60 lb ebike. Sorry for being a normie :)
Totally tracks here in NYC. Lots of tourists and people in transit use Citibikes, so they're not prepared with a helmet. When I take my cargo ebike to the office or elsewhere, I bring my helmet with me.
Btw congestion pricing goes live on Sunday 5 Jan. Wish us luck that Trump doesn't kill the plan!
Uh oh. @vinepair.com I guess this will be covered on an upcoming podcast episode? www.nytimes.com/2025/01/03/h...
@ohtheurbanity.bsky.social I'm a few months late but thank you for that video looking at density vs affordability in NYC and SF: youtu.be/EZo9MKgYQ60?....
As a community board chair overseeing one of the densest areas of NYC (LIC) I'd shout about those graphs from all our rooftops!
