It's Treat Tuesday! Brought to you by short rib, corn and mashπ
Just a sweet little book from 1910 on the Canadian prairie to cleanse your timelineπ
My robin friend bids you a good morning and wishes you wellπ§‘
In solidarity with the latest episode of GenderPop I've taken an impromptu trip to the cinema to see The Bride! Let's see if it brings the character to life!β‘ #filmsky
There is something lovely about nighttime daffodilsπ
It's movie day in the library! πΌ
What are you picking?
- The 1990s IT mini-series with Tim Curry as Pennywise?
- A strange trio of Apollo 13, Lynch's Dune & Cronenberg's Crash?
- A horror assortment of Phantoms, Hellraiser 2 & Vampire Circus?
- Or a full season of Ally McBeal?
Make your choice!
Greetings from the library on this misty Midlands Monday morning!ππ§‘
I've spent the first few hours of my shift searching for a singular book to no avail, it appears to have disappeared into thin air! Even my powers of detection and deduction are no match for this vanishing act!π
Tis' a momentous day as the 1500 piece puzzle with only a 1:5 scale pic for reference is finally finished!π
Suitable for International Women's Day, this edition of Robin Hood not only has some great illustrations and a lovely vivid cover. It also positions Marian in a much more active role, practicing hunting & archery with the best of them, it even depicts a woman in a suitable suit of armour for once!πΉ
May your read be as much fun as I had writing it!π
Good morning to you on this dreary Sunday!π
It's a good sign though that they squirrels are back out and at it, already collecting nuts again!πΏοΈ
I hope today is rewarding for you and acts as a culmination to all the seeds you have sown throughout the week!π₯
Mixed Mexican rice bowl with added tuna for lunch, very tasty!π
Love the cover design and glossy artwork in these story books from the 1960s. The first one I found was Pinocchio, now this The Children of the New Forrest has a very similar feel, both whimsical and surprisingly dark. A great piece of literary history!π§‘ππ #booksky
Came across someone on their phone, loudly saying the cliche thing of "I'm in a library!"
As I told them to take the call outside they loudly said "I'm already being asked to leave!" in excited tones.
I worry I'm partially responsible for people thinking the library environment is rife for contentπ
Do not disturb the pub cat!π»
The fit for tonight
Everything is blue in the library today.π #shelfie
Good morning everyone! π
Sometimes being a librarian is just spending your morning wrapping up a load of used book support bandages.
The crop of repairs came out alright just so you know!π
Take care out thereπ§‘
Confession: the new book I'm writing has taken 5+ years partially because it was an idealistic Sci-Fi about how AI could help people in the future.
Then I saw what most people use it for & it became dystopian.
At this point the story is a Robocop-like satire instead of a fun time travel love storyπ
Your rogue librarian here, bringing you behind the stacks views. Who knew some books were so pretty from behind!ππ
Found another homemade bookmark in this book on gravity, I love when the person takes the effort to laminate them.
Homemade bookmarks are the Chaotic Good of things people leave in their library booksπ
Good morning everyone!
Apologies for my relative silence on here yesterday, I had very little to say. But I have heard it is World Book Day, so I am back with a vengeance for my day has come!
#booksky
It's woodpecker feast time!π
Today has been a great day for feeling supported in my creative outlets.π
I got to listen to the prologue for the audiobook of Friends With Death.
The new GenderPop dropped.
Now I've seen someone picked up a paperback of Confessions!
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to support me & my workπ§‘
Just in time for The Bride coming out, go listen to us discuss 5 different previous representations of female Frankensteins on the GenderPop podcast!
Can you guess all 5 versions?π°π©β‘ #filmsky #podcastsky

New cat in the garden! This is not a drill!π»
Come rain or shine, we repair books on #MonochromeMonday!π
The book repairs got a little out of hand in the library today, I am now completely out of support bandagesπ
The pages of this book have been put in upside down, Why Comics? indeed!
