Four-panel comic on a dark textured background featuring a fluffy black cat with very large round eyes looking directly at the viewer. In the first panel the text reads βYou there,β. In the second panel it says βYes, you.β In the third panel it says βJust knowβ¦β. In the final panel the catβs eyes contain heart shapes and the text reads βIβm cheering for you.β The signature βpurr.in.inkβ appears in the corner.
an important reminder that "hacking" rarely involves typing real fast as green text scrolls by and mostly involves asking people for their login info in increasingly sophisticated ways
human psychology is a lot easier to manipulate than code, be very careful with anyone asking for credentials
Just mentioning this to those who may have missed it a day or so agoβnew at #Ebooks Direct: DEAD AND BREAKFAST: THE SCREENPLAY. WARNING: contains supernatural horror, the city of London, greedy billionaires, dead people, cold iron, Queens in jeans, and steel-belted radial bacon. πdduane.link/DandB
If you're interested, there's some really interesting psych research on how our internal narrative can effect memory, it's (personally) fascinating stuff!
And thanks for the interview share :D Very cool to see

π¨URGENT ACTION ALERT! π¨
The House Energy and Commerce Committee is holding a hearing today to advance a frankenstein package of "kids safety" bills that are trojan horses for censorship and surveillance.

With the Kennedies, i feel it's kind of a toss-up? Or a, "Why not both?" thing. And on my end, it's a, "Yes and..." to your comment
Ohhhhh, barrettes and claw clips would be *to die for*
This 'commercial research' exception to copyright protection would be a fucking nightmare and you'd better believe promptly copied (har har) every goddamned where.
The absolute refusal to stand for humans who make their living from art is just fucking grim.
Very grateful to've had the chance for a change of scenery over the weekend, and for all the new friends i made along the way
Holy shit tho', getting back into things this week is A LOT
Every day we move further from grace, and more towards the future promised in Tales of the Afternow
Consumables for consumers, ffs

What to say. You donβt need to be an expert. You donβt need to write a legal brief. A few sentences in your own words carry weight. But if you want to make your comment as effective as possible, here are the points that matter most: Demand additional alternatives. The BLM has only proposed two: do nothing or maximize logging. Insist they analyze alternatives that increase harvest modestly while maintaining meaningful protections for old-growth, listed species, water quality, and recreation. Challenge the fire argument. The BLM claims increased logging will reduce wildfire risk. The science says the opposite for industrial clearcutting and plantation management. Say so. Raise the streamside buffers. Twenty-five-foot buffers are a joke for protecting endangered salmon and steelhead. The agency knows this. Call it out.
Defend the ACECs. The BLM is required to reevaluate all existing Areas of Critical Environmental Concern in the planning area. Thatβs over 100 designated areas. If youβve visited any of them, say so. If they matter to you, say so. Name the places you care about. Valley of the Giants. Maryβs Peak. Alsea Falls. The Sandy River. The North Fork Clackamas. The Upper Molalla. Personal connections to specific places carry real weight in NEPA proceedings. Demand public meetings. The BLM has said it doesnβt intend to hold any. Thatβs unacceptable for a decision of this magnitude. Tell them.
Here's the info on how to comment in case you don't click on Substack links. The eplanning page link in the first bullet is eplanning.blm.gov/Project-Home...
Age verification laws are spreading in the US. The tools are often easily beaten performative trash but they're still a danger as goldmines for bad actors, holding PII data from anyone who obeys these laws. The laws also invariably get weaponized against all LGBTQIA+ content.
Fight them as you can.
This is a great time to get off Substack. Beehive and Ghost are good alternatives.
As an added benefit, your blog won't be driving traffic to Nazis and their sycophants.
SHELVE YOUR BATTLE AXE, TODAY YOU WILL BATTLE THE THOUGHTS THAT WOULD STEAL OUR JOY. AND YOU WILL WIN.
I'd like to add that like in all industries, when we stop understanding how our tools work, we become entirely dependent on the corporate entities that own the mold. We are trading the ability to build and repair for the convenience of being permanent tenants in someone else's infrastructure/subs.
I find Gmailβs new βwrite this for meβ feature deeply sinister. Theyβre trying to convince you that you are dumb and helpless. Donβt let them steal your ability to formulate thoughts and communicate. You were capable of writing an email in 2022 and youβre capable now.

r/Minneapolis If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, that's it for me. I've spent the last week checking on my neighbors, engaging with my city, my local police, everyone. I've supported my friends and family, made sure they knew they weren't alone in their feelings of hopelessness, powerlessness. I've called and emailed my representatives, demanding answers, demanding action. I've just been overcome with this overwhelming, almost primal need to care for and support my community. If Trump invokes the Insurrection Act, and soldiers take to our streets, then that tears it for me. My son just turned 1yr. I've done my best to be a helper, so that I can still be around to support him and spend time with him. But if I have to STAND OUTSIDE in the FREEZING COLD and get the SHIT KICKED OUT OF ME by the people who are supposed to be protecting me, if I have to do that to fight for goodness, and righteousness, and justice, then that's what I'm gonna fucking do. I'm going to do it because this is not the future I want for my son. If you've been out on the streets, and you're tired, and you're hurting, don't worry. Rest when you need to. Because I know my home and I know my neighbors. When you need to rest, two more will replace you. I will be one of them. This is my home. Minneapolis is not going to quit. Minnesota is not going to quit. And FUCK EVERYONE who tries to come in here and take from us the PRIDE, LOVE, and COMMUNITY we've built. As long as I can stand, I'm going to plant my two feet between the oppressors and the home I love. I love you all. L'etoile du Nord.
Posts from Minneapolis residents read like they'll be read in voiceover in a Ken Burns-like doc one day
A WARRIOR FEARS NOTHING, NOT EVEN ASKING FOR HELP.
Gotta get that Sigma Alucard act going. Get yourself a mist form
You won't know until it's done if your moment is the watershed, but know that everything leading up to that moment helped build up the pressure and momentum that made the breakthrough possible.
Hold firm, hold strong. Take a breather when you need to; know that our works matters. Take care <3
They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.
Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.
Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.
Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.
