Oooo! Pretty!
My favorite Winter incense, Balsam Fir. Cool visual effect when you light it up and hold the stick as still as possible, you can watch the flame hover above it as it gets smaller and smaller, and bluer and bluer, until the flame winks-out and turns to smoke. Only incense I know that does this.
Words and phrases we could do without: I'm observing that reporters are calling Lord Dampnut's late-nite social media rants "unhinged." We've heard/seen that word so much by now, it has ceased to mean anything. May I suggest instead: Call them "batshit crazy."
I watched the football game with family today (Ravens lost again, grrr) and observed that their Tight End is one Isaiah Likely. That's really his name. His bio on the Ravens website ought to be "A Likely Story!"
NOW It Fits! Custom Sewing & Alterations has a new photo shoot up, showing off a "Soft Goth" dress for a spooky Fall moon. 5 pics in the series. www.pinterest.com/pin/88474628...
I’ll just leave this here ….
“The Terrible Blandness of Being White” — looking at two of the alternatives (one Earth-based, the other a Frankenreligion) that White Americans have taken, in attempt to fill-in what our European ancestors lost when they came here. open.substack.com/pub/radiofre...
I went "soft goth" for Pagan Pride Day in a new dress with a print of red roses on black thorns against a cloudy gray background. And in case any jack-booted thugs turned up to spoil our fun, I was ready to play "The Imperial March" on my Comic-Kazee Kazoo!
An owl is hooting outside my window tonight! Hoo, hoo-hoo-hoo. Hoo, hoo.
My semi-annual public service: I have just released a new video explaining the significance of both Eclipses this month, and a simple ritual for healing your ancestral karma that you can do at home, called Tarpanam. youtu.be/OBgeSeE_0hw
Going to an audition tonight, with my cruise-ship portrait reworked as a pro headshot. Stay tuned .....
Venus and Jupiter at exact conjunction.
My work for Matthew Fox yesterday involved doing something FUN: Looking for pictures of lions, to illustrate his essay about World Lion Day! Rrraawwrrr! dailymeditationswithmatthewfox.org/2025/08/11/w...
I was commissioned to make this from scratch for the mother of a bride. Looks simple, but it's a stretchy fabric cut on the bias, with an invisible zipper and waistband -- all of which called for some special techniques to keep it smooth throughout. NOW It Fits! Custom Sewing & Alterations.
Po-tay-to, Po-tah-to !
You should be! Pleased, that is.
Raining cats dogs and hamsters.
In Nassau last year, I bought 2 copies of same dress, to dismantle one for extra fabric to upcycle the other. Made skirt fuller, added POCKETS, and made the sleeves more graceful with extra drapes and shoulder bows!
WOOHOO !! 20 years running, my mammogram has been CLEAR!
