@globalfarmmetric
The GFM is a coalition of stakeholders across the food and farming system working to establish a common framework for measuring on-farm sustainability. We are a collaborative initiative of the @susfoodtrust.bsky.social. π https://www.globalfarmmetric.org

π The Global Farm Metric framework has been used to collect outcomes-based data on farms which will be used to model how different farming systems might affect our ability to reach net zero as well improve soil health and biodiversity and increase farm profitability.
π― The UK government has set a target to achieve βnet-zero emissionsβ by 2050.
π₯ Weβre proud to be part of the @lunz-hub.bsky.social project β a collaboration between NGOs, researchers and policy makers, exploring how grassland systems can help us reach net zero.
βΌοΈ We need your help! If youβre a farmer, weβd like to hear which practices you think are best for the planet and the ones you want policymakers to know about.

Enjoy the festive season and we'll see you in 2026.
π¦πΊ Working with our Australian partners, we progressed alignment with their Agricultural Sustainability Framework and adapted the GFM Research Tool for local use, with plans to expand to India.
π At the TCA Global Summit, the GFM was recognised as a practical framework for driving change.
Some of our most notable achievements include:
βοΈ Supporting the development of the UK Governmentβs Land Use Framework.
π‘ Insights from our ELMS Test & Trial were shared at a Defra dissemination event.
As the year draws to a close, we're taking a moment to pause and reflect on what weβve achieved this year, before stepping into 2026.

π The AFN roadmap highlights that, to deliver real progress, we must look beyond GDP and include social and environmental indicators in how we measure success β ensuring the transition is just, fair and inclusive. These are principles at the heart of the @globalfarmmetric.bsky.social.
π± The new roadmap from the @afnnetwork.bsky.social advocates for a UK food system transformation on a scale not seen since the Second World War.
We agree that the need for change has never been more urgent. When it comes to food and farming, business as usual is no longer an option.
