Though I’ll now never have the chance to meet him, I’m deeply grateful to my good friend Ewen and to Club James Bond France for kindly arranging this signed photo from Tchéky at their GoldenEye anniversary event earlier this year, a gesture I’ll always treasure.
In recent years, he brought to life one of my favourite characters, Julien Baptiste, in the acclaimed series The Missing and its spin-off Baptiste, a performance full of depth, soul and quiet power. If you’ve not seen this series, I urge you to hunt it out and give it a watch.

We sadly lost a Bond alumnus on Friday, Tchéky Karyo, someone I had long hoped to meet one day. Not only for his role as Defense Minister, Dmitri Mishkin in 1995’s GoldenEye, but for an extraordinary body of work.

My pitch is #BlueBond … which works on a couple of levels I think seeing as so many tweets came from people who behave like adolescents who never grow up.
So, here’s hoping that this new app turns out to be better than what Twitter/X has turned into!
