With a brown to white gradient background, the picture shows a really elaborate Victorian-looking wooden desk. The lower part has drawers and a glass cabinet, filled with papers and scrolls. In the middle section there is a mess of manuscripts and papers, it looks like a snapshot in the middle of a study session. On top are still more manuscripts and scrolls, a microscope, a clock, a human skull, plants and stuffed butterflies and moths ready for sorting and study. Above this desk hangs a lamp made of bronze that looks like a huge flying moth illuminating the scene.

Against a grey background is the full-length figure of Revel, a red tiefling bard from Dungeons and Dragons. She strikes a slouching pose, clutching her navy officer-style jacket, while her lute peeks out from behind her back. She wears a wide white pirate-style shirt, with a cyan-blue waistcoat over it, decorated with gold beads and patterns. She is also wearing simple, tight-fitting leather trousers and tall leather boots with gold detailing. In addition, she wears bracelets that cover her forearms and a wide belt, from which her rapier hangs. She has black eyes with yellow irises, her brown hair is tied back in a ponytail and she has many gold piercings and earrings, as well as rings on her hands and tail. The view through an open archway of a ruined stone structure. Beyond the winter sky is pale and desaturated with the sun barely visible in contrast. Thin stones make up what remains of the structure. A weathered copper sun sits above the keystone. The trees in the background are all skeletal and bare. The snow in the immediate foreground suggests the last dregs of winter when the season drags on forever.

As a native Californian, I really enjoy the change in seasons that I experience living in New England. There is even beauty to be found in the shadows of the leafless trees against the pale gray winter sky. 1/2
