sanctimonious people who can't even agree on the right shade of blue.
Your shade of blue is not more important than his. Your morals are not greater or lesser than his. And like other vets, others even currently serving that oppose this regime but aren't refusing illegal orders because of the above stated reasons, I will stand with them before I stand with β¬οΈ
And for those that blast military personnel like my mate, with the fullest expression my lungs can muster, fuck you. Fuck you for hoping harm and death upon my husband, who wouldn't hurt a fly, who has voted blue his whole life, who has always tried to help people and model being a good citizen. β¬οΈ
dangle the carrot of hope before our men and women, while consuming the entire garden for themselves.
Instead of thinking how we can get soldiers to refuse illegal orders, maybe it would be wiser to think of preventing those soldiers from ever having to be placed in such a position to begin with. β¬οΈ
In reality, they are sent as mercenaries at the personal agendas of money hungry elites and evil governments. The rich, the leaders, they all know each other. They suffer no scars. They suffer no losses. For them, the soldiers and citizens are all just chess pieces on their boards. They β¬οΈ
soldiers. There are bonds made almost akin to trauma bonding in the early weeks of boot-camp. In the end, the human coming in is no longer human, and sometimes never becomes human again. They get swallowed, chewed up and regurgitated for the misguided purposes of defending the Constitution. β¬οΈ
vicious machine that brings in young persons hoping for a bright future, and immediately start breaking their bodies and minds, remolding them into killing machines. The pressure to perform then doesn't just include a future college or paycheck, it is now pressure from the leadership, the fellow β¬οΈ
not have to face in order to attempt to rise above the drowning socio-economic nightmares they were born and raised in. To get a paycheck, to get a chance for college, they must first dodge bullets and face death, PTSD, and mutilated bodies.
Then there is the military institution itself, a β¬οΈ
for an 18 year old. The military provides too tempting of an offer for the poor, who have limited to no means of getting out of the areas they are in, and even more limited futures.
Once they are captured in the web of the military, the poor must then commit to jumping hurdles that the rich do β¬οΈ
For many, they also can get free college after serving a certain term within the military (assuming they survive). They have families to support, futures they are trying to navigate, because for many, like my mate who was raised poor in a rural environment, career choices were very limited β¬οΈ
them, but remember who is sent to war. It is not the rich man's spoiled brat. It is not the well-to-do family who pushes their kid into college to avoid the draft. The government, backed by and run by the rich, put the poor into the wars they create.
Poor soldiers are working to get a paycheck. β¬οΈ
teenager of such an unglamorized view of my death, to die not for defense of this country, but to serve the interests of the rich, was a sobering and unnerving reality.
So, back to thinking of the arguments of why do soldiers take illegal orders? We would like to scream they could just refuse β¬οΈ
the US military; no different than the guns and tanks and bombs. They are cannon fodder. Even I was told that in my high school ROTC, inside a training simulator ship in Charleston, SC, that my body would be used to stuff torpedo holes blown into the sides of the ship. To have a realization as a β¬οΈ
have one thing in common: they are among the poor. Now, that qualification of poor may vary from soldier to soldier, but as a collective, compared to the elites that send them to war, they are considered poor. They are considered expendable, and as my mate asserted, nothing more than property to β¬οΈ
supported this regime, and has voted blue his entire voting age life. While a majority of soldiers and vets support this regime, those like my husband do not.
That being said, for those that do not support Trump, as well as a portion (I suspect) of the former and current members of the military β¬οΈ
I waited to post this until I talked about my thoughts and limited knowledge of the military with my husband, an actual vet from the military.
Quite a few people have decided to attack the soldiers of the US military, aligning them as evil as this regime itself.
My mate has not and never has β¬οΈ
So the deep sea nope spiders are getting freaky on top of the stingy tube which is holding on for dear life to a water rope. Got it.
I have a wolf spider that lives in our bathroom. She pays the rent by eating any bugs that dare enter the room.
If you are allowed to have a diverse native plant garden, turn your lawn into a pollinator and wildlife haven. Once the plants are established usually outside thinning them they are generally low maintenance compared to a lawn. Mix native grasses and flowers and such π
Someone call an ambulance, cuz my sugar just spiked from the massive intake of sweetness.
I like #3, but then I am partial to purples.
I definitely chose t-shirts and jeans.
I see another slug under the edge of the bottom mushroom as well. Apparently this is the Mushroom Buffet Restaurant for Slugs! π
Wild ecosystems are valuable but humans won't preserve them. Our species deems its own comforts and pleasures too important to worry about the earth, much less our own future.
forest around my childhood home was ripped up to become timber and paper, I remember crying because the woods I played in was gone. The paths were gone. There was a silence for weeks after; no birds, no sounds of squirrels. Just the smell of death and cut wood mingled with the hot, summer sun. β¬οΈ
I watched an entire forest get felled in less than a week. The first thing you notice is it's hotter. There is no shade. Then the smell of the churned up earth; a rancid, rotten smell. There is also the smell of decay, from the wildlife that couldn't flee the machines and falling trees. When the β¬οΈ
Apparently women's cargo work pants with deep pockets and feels good to wear is hard to get? At least mine were. I went and bought another pair, but then after it was only available online and for twice the price.
Not with a smart car but a friend did buy my pair of pants right off me. Even tried it on to see if they'd fit first XD.
Japan had a chance to completely mute that mouth of his when he went there to get his creaky door voice fixed. How ironic that he's gotta fly to other countries to have that fine healthcare not available in the country that this POS peddles snake oil in.
Absolutely stunning. Love this!
