Just want to remind Hawks fans that under the new lottery odds since 2019.
The teams that’s finished 7th/8th in the lottery odds have gone up into the top 4, five out of 7 times.
Based off history that 7-8 range has always been the sweet spot in the draft lottery.
Pains me to admit it but DeJounte being back has made the Pels a decent team.
DeJounte coming off an Achilles all of a sudden looks incredible! 😔
Still think their schedule moving forward is tough enough that they'll still lose games but they are no longer a pushover!
Bench:
Kuminga 6th man & Go after whatever Center to backup OO with the remain cap space.
Maybe Zaach is cool with being a 7th/8th man longterm, Maybe you can resign CJ at a lower number and he can be a mentor to the rookie for a year.
Starters:
Onyeka
Jalen
Dyson
NAW
Use the Pels/MIL pick on one of these athletic perimeter scorers to fill the CJ role. Dybantsa/Peterson would be the dream. If that Pels/Mil pick ends up 5-9. Flemings, Burries or Brown would be my targets
Theres a pretty obvious pathway on how Onsi should construct this roster around Jalen longterm and frankly I dont see a world where Risacher ever becomes a starter on this iteration of the team.
Ive said this repeatedly but Onsi should look at this current stretch from CJ McCollum & fantasize what would this team look like if they had just a younger/more athletic version of him
Thats why I would be drooling at the thought of pairing Dybantsa, Peterson or even Kingston Flemings w/this group
When the Hawks traded for CJ McCollum, I said from the start that he was gonna be a really good addition & that he would fit well under Quin. Outside of his 1st 4 games, CJ has been exactly what I predicted that he would be.
A reliable scorer who can take pressure off Jalen & a veteran presence
If neither Tua or Penix can prove that they're the guy, you will likely be bad enough to target a real QB in the 2027 Draft/Offseason
Im okay w/the Falcons signing Tua for THAT number.
It was always going to be slim pickings to get a real QB this offseason.
Dont love Kyler, Flacco is 41 & Geno was awful last year
Tua's injury history is concerning but hes been semi productive if you give him weapons & when hes playing indoors

Awesome Jalen game. He was relentless attacking the paint all game.
Dyson is just a good winning basketball player.
Risacher is improving defensively.
NAW is better when hes hitting C&S threes & attacking closeouts
OO played like a complete softie tonight
Very Good NAW game, CJ was steady, OO struggled guarding Giannis but was better as the game went on & was very good on offense. ZR played like a good 3&D wing for a night.
Jalen's finishing and his tedency to fadeaway from contact has been frustrating lately but his playmaking was really good
Outstanding game from Dyson. The job he did on Giannis was incredible. He cant shoot a lick but he just does everything else.
Bucks are 5 games back of the playin. They could be like 8-9 back of the play-in in 2 weeks. if/when that happens they could finally pull the plug on Giannis and sit him
That might have been the best win of the season for the Hawks for a variety of reasons.

Sure the competition is far from the best but the rim pressure, athleticism, foul drawing, defense & passing.
For all the Quin Synder hate, he turned DeAndre Hunter into an elite offensive player for 2 months. If you have offensive skill he'll find it
I dont see it with Wagler.
He has nice feel and can shoot it deep but hes got Questionable Athleticism/Burst & he doesnt finish well inside the arch.
I'll rather have Acuff, Brown & Burries over him

Im honestly not sure Wilson can play the 5. If I was confident i would definitely be in on him more.
I think he's closer to where Asa is measurables wise & he's pretty slim. I Think Wilson is a pure 4
